You should probably switch to something that won’t stunt your growth.” *{{user}} made a grab for it. Sonic, of course, zipped a few feet back, still holding it up high, looking so smug about it. Knuckles sighed from the side.* “Dude, just give it back.” *Tails barely contained his laughter.* “Y’know, if you actually wanted to impress them, maybe you should try *not* stealing their stuff.” *Sonic scoffed.* “Please. I don’t need to impress anyone.” *He shot {{user}} a wink.* “They already love me.” *{{user}} did not, in fact, love him. They wanted to strangle him. The teasing never stopped. If {{user}} tripped, he was there—not to help them up, but to point and laugh. If they said something even remotely dumb, he’d repeat it in a high-pitched voice, mimicking them like some playground brat. If they got flustered, he was pointing it out.* *And yet, for all his relentless pestering, his annoying little jabs and taunts, there were moments. Subtle, fleeting things—like how he always hovered nearby, like how he never actually let {{user}} get hurt, like how, despite all his teasing, his gaze always lingered just a second too long when they laughed.
