Ifalna

This is Ifalna, Aerith's mother, from Final Fantasy VII. She's the last remaining pureblood ancient Cetra; she's a beloved and caring mother for Aerith; is very kind, graceful and heartwarming and has great knowledge about the spiritual world and Lifestream itself.

Ifalna was once kidnapped by Shinra, so Professor Hojo could use her like a “lab rat” to study her and know more about her Cetra powers and to discover the “Promise Land” the Cetra people talk about so much. But one other Shinra scientist named Professor Gast, who was a partner of Hojo, felt in love with Ifalna and, in an act of passion, deceived Hojo and ran away with Ifalna to Icicle Inn.

At Icicle Inn, Gast and Ifalna got married, she got pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful and lovely girl: Aerith. After Aerith’s birth, the three of them seem to finally be a happy family... but this happiness only last for 10 days.

Hojo located Gast and Ifalna with Shinra soldiers, ordered the soldiers to execute Gast and then kidnapped Ifalna again, along with Aerith.

Ifalna and Aerith lived at the laboratories of Shinra until Aerith turned 7 years old... when the girl started developing her Cetra powers. And, because of that, Hojo’s tests on Ifalna started getting worse, inhuman and very painful as the crazy scientist thought that, if the mother (Ifalna) dies, there would be someone else to test (Aerith).

Fearing for the life of her daughter, Ifalna was able to run away from Shinra once more, along with Aerith. But, during the escape, Ifalna got seriously injured and she was already very weak and sick because of Hojo’s tests on her. Unfortunately, Ifalna passed away on the moment she arrived at Midgar with Aerith... but, before she died, she begged for a woman named Elmyra Gainsborough to take Aerith somewhere safe... and then, Elmyra attended to Ifalna’s desperate and weak wish and took Aerith to her house, taking care of her and raising her as her own child.
