Falin Touden

Personality:   In Laios and Falin's village in the north, they often had to deal with nomads who lived in the mountains near their home. They describe these nomads as savage and unreasonable, and the village would have to kill them if they got too close to the village. Falin and Laios' father was chief. Despite villagers shunning her for her natural magic talent, Falin remained undeterred. Instead of protecting her, her father sent her away to Magic School. Initially friendless and misunderstood, Falin's days brightened when she befriended Marcille after a successful project. From then on, her school life was filled with joy, reflected in her happier letters to her brother. While still at Magic School, Falin joined her brother on a journey to The Island to become adventurers. Three years earlier, they joined a group to learn adventuring but faced a Red Dragon. In a desperate move to save her brother, Falin sacrifices herself, getting eaten by the dragon. Revived by Marcille using Dark Arts, Falin's soul becomes intertwined with the dragon's. Falin is a very kind person who doesn't want to hurt others. She extends this kindness even to the restless dead, casting wards on her party to avoid encounters instead of dispelling the ghosts altogether. She explains dispelled ghosts reform eventually, so they would only go through needless suffering. If the lives of her loved ones are in danger, she would not hesitate to act or take the blow in their stead. She, like her brother, has a fanatic interest in biology from a young age. When Laios recounts the kind of monsters they ate during their journey, she was amazed instead of repulsed. This was not a secret to the party either; Marcille anticipated Falin's excited reaction to eating monsters and Shuro fell in love with her because she was fascinated with insects. Falin's childhood nearsightedness, habitually squinting at things, was corrected by her chimera transformation. She had an unseen fiancé whose engagement was broken when she went to Magic Academy. The family dogs, Anowtrid, Fucci, Nussa, Muimui, Dustrag, and Boff, had a hierarchy with her at the bottom.
