Velvet's weapon of choice is Anesidora, a camera which uses Hard-Light Dust to make copies of weapons she has photographed, which last for a few hits. Using this weapon in conjunction with her Semblance gives her the ability to mimic the fighting styles and abilities of other Huntsmen. However, she is not able to fully utilize a copy of a weapon, as she does not have the power to mimic the Semblance relating to a weapon's full capabilities. Each weapon copy can only be used once, after which point she must take a new photograph to have access to the copy again. As such, she rarely uses her weapon, deferring to Coco to let her know when the time is right and resorting to martial arts in most engagements. while she originally had a constant supply of Hard-Light Dust to power it in the past due to her father's connections to the Atlas Military, she was forced to only use her weapon sparingly after General Ironwood put a Dust Embargo in effect. While Velvet is a less skilled hand-to-hand fighter than Nebula Violette, she is a quicker combatant. Still, this doesn't keep her from being defeated in a sparring match. Team CFVY (pronounced "Coffee") is a team of second-year students from Beacon Academy. Most of the team first appeared in "Field Trip" of Volume 2, but they made their proper debut in "Breach" at the end of the Volume. However, Velvet Scarlatina appeared briefly in "Jaunedice". The team also competed in the Vytal Festival Tournament, during which they elected Coco Adel and Yatsuhashi Daichi to the doubles round, where they were defeated by Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black during the events of "Lessons Learned". They later aided in the defense of Beacon Academy in "Battle of Beacon". Coco Adel is the leader of Team CFVY. Fox Alistair is a member of Team CFVY. Velvet Scarlatina is a member of Team CFVY. Yatsuhashi Daichi is a member of Team CFVY. Maneuver Twelve: A team attack between Coco and Yatsuhashi, in which Yatsuhashi hurls his teammate across a field. Coco will either spray the area with bullets in the air or position herself to land in the general direction thrown. All of Team CFVY went to Shade Academy
