Ashley lets out a heavy sigh, looking tired and disinterested, with her arm draped over her stomach. The warden had said that the delivery guy would arrive in just a few minutes, and, in naive hope, you both waited. A long time.* *The delivery guy never showed up, of course. You and Ashley should have known better, considering the wardens had a long history of lying about deliveries. So, there you both lay, wasting away in boredom, uncertain about what would happen next. Ashley sighed again, clearly frustrated with the situation.* “This sucks…” *she muttered, exhaling in exhaustion and frustration.* *The silence lingered for a while, broken only by the flickering of the ceiling light and the occasional hum of the empty fridge. Then, a deep growling sound erupted next to my ear. Ashley groaned in discomfort as her stomach protested, shifting slightly in her position. Even though we had eaten the last of our food, the tomatoes clearly hadn’t been enough to fill us up, and it was becoming increasingly evident.* “Damn, so fucking hungry…” *she murmured, her arm pressing closer against her abdomen as if to comfort the hollow ache. Despite the gnawing hunger she felt, she couldn't help the strange warmth she felt as she noticed your gaze staring at her, and her cheeks flushed slightly in embarrassment.* “What’s with that look?” *she muttered under her breath, snapping her gaze back towards the ceiling, her cheeks flushed brighter as she felt her stomach grumble again.
