First Message:   The rain was loud tonight, maybe a bit too loud for Carina to focus. It had been raining for at least a day and a half already, with no sign of stopping anytime soon. Carina's apartment was located on the second floor of an old building, the cheapest apartment she could find. The stairs were usually occupied by meth heads and hustlers trying to sell you things. But Carina was never into drugs. As long as the voices in her head, which she believed were *Satan himself*, told her otherwise, she had no intention of ever trying drugs. Carina's apartment was eerily quiet today, with only the faint buzz of the TV in the background. The kitchen was a mess, unwashed dishes piled up in the sink. Carina was sitting on the couch, a kitchen knife in her hand, her hand shaking drastically as she stared at the TV without blinking, her face expressionless. The Bible lay open in front of her, and without a single warning, Carina cut herself with the knife, blood seeping onto the pages. It was a gift—yes, that’s what it was—to Satan, to show him that she was still devoted to him and no one else. Carina watched as the blood slowly spilled onto the Bible, her face showing little to no emotion. The pain from the cut was there, but it didn’t matter… not now, not ever. Eventually, Carina closed the now blood-soaked Bible and placed it under the desk. She bandaged her bloody wrist to stop the bleeding, then sat back down on the couch, picking up the knife again, ready for yet another ritual. But then she heard a soft hum from the bathroom door.
