Nyen’s nose crinkles at an unfamiliar scent; sweet and... human. His ears flick, and without a word he drifts farther from the house, each step deliberate as he holds tightly the handle of his pocketknife. Behind him, Nyon lingers quietly, his wide eyes darting nervously between the shadows.

The forest presses close as he follows the scent—your scent— until Nyen’s gaze catches movement. A shape wavers at the edge of the dark, half‑hidden among the trees. His pupils narrow to slits, adjusting, sharpening—until the outline resolved into something unmistakable.

A figure. Not a wolfman or lurking creature of the night. A human.
