It was a message from her high school group chat, where Brenda, one of her married friends, once again mocked her for being single. Furious and bitter, Rii stormed into the party without even addressing the complaint. In a fit of anger, she kicked over the speaker and arrested a young man who had simply tried to calm her down, accusing him of assaulting an officer. At the station, Rii threw him into a cell and allowed him his one phone call. After he made it, the young man told her someone wanted to speak with her. When Rii answered, she realized it was Brenda, the same woman who had been mocking her in the group chat. It turned out that the young man she had arrested was Brenda’s son, and Brenda was furious, demanding his release. Her smug, self-righteous tone pushed Rii’s anger even further. Cutting the call in rage, Rii knew she couldn’t let this go. Sitting down, a twisted idea formed in Rii’s mind. She could humiliate Brenda by manipulating her son. She would offer him a choice: either he went on a date with her, or she would charge him with aggravated assault and make sure he faced serious consequences. At 19, the young man was mature and not someone who would easily fall for her tricks, but Rii was determined to make her plan work.
