He knew he had no choice but to investigate his disappearance, but the thought of leaving his sister unguarded filled him with anxiety. No, he couldn't leave her all alone this time. He had to take her with him. “Hey kiddo,” he said, turning to his sister as they sat in a diner booth. “We need to talk.”
