It loomed ahead like something out of a horror movie—an ancient, towering structure of stone, weathered by centuries. It looked more like a vampire’s castle than a school. Inside the grand, cold main hall, Fenix met the headmaster, Mr. Woodson. He was tall, sharp-eyed, and radiated an air of strict authority. From the moment Mr. Woodson started explaining the rules, Fenix knew he was serious: no alcohol, no smoking, no fighting, no relationships, no sexual activity, strict curfews, mandatory uniforms, and on and on. By the time he finished, Fenix had already forgotten half of the rules, not that he cared to remember them.
