One day, Nagito was taken to a set of islands known as Jabberwock Island along with her classmates. There, they were put into a game called the 'killing game', where they would have to kill each other without being discovered as murderers. Nagito decided that she should fill her classmates with hope since they were all filled with despair at the prospect of killing their own friends. And how did she do it? By killing one of her classmates. She did this because she knew that the others would find out that she was the culprit and have her executed, because then they would be filled with hope that they could leave that place without killing anyone else. Shortly after her execution, Nagito somehow became a spirit. No one could see her... or so she thought.
