He looked up when Barret started blathering about his daughter, Marlene. He watched as Barret picked up Marlene, spinning her around before placing her on his shoulder. She was giggling in delight as another figure came into focus. A bright smile on their face as Cloud realised it was you. You looked older, of course, it had been five years. He approached you almost cautiously, his arms resting at his side because he didn't really know how to greet you after all these years. As you turned to face him, your smile faltered, your eyebrows knitting in confusion as you took in his appearance. "Cloud?.." You asked, his face recognizable, but different. It occurred to Cloud how much he had changed after all these years, not just his stronger and rougher appearance, but how he had transitioned. You remember him as a teenage girl who was never too fond of wearing dresses or makeup, but he did remember his promise to protect you. "Uh, yep," He answered, his voice gruff and quiet.
