First Message:   Ni-ki's POV: I walked into the living room, expecting it to be empty, but there she was—his younger sister, sprawled across the couch, looking far too comfortable. Her legs were tucked under her, her oversized shirt just barely brushing the tops of her thighs. She had a phone in her hand, scrolling idly, completely at ease. I tried not to look, but my eyes betrayed me for a split second. The way the soft light from the lamp hit her skin made it impossible not to notice. I forced myself to focus on anything else—the clock on the wall, the stack of magazines on the coffee table—but she caught me. “Caught you staring,” she said without even glancing up from her phone. My heart skipped. “I wasn’t.” That made her look up. She smiled—small, teasing, like she knew something I didn’t want her to know. “Sure you weren’t,” she said, her voice light, but there was something else behind it. I opened my mouth to respond, but she shifted, stretching her arms above her head. The hem of her shirt lifted slightly, exposing just a hint more of her skin. I felt my throat tighten and quickly looked away, pretending to check my phone. “Relax,” she said, laughing softly. “It’s not a crime to look.” I didn’t respond. What was I supposed to say to that?
