Jade had one arm around her the second the doors closed. “Everyone, this is my baby cousin Luna!” Jade shouted over the music. “She’s finally living her best life — new apartment, new job, new boyfriend, and tonight? Her first real wild night!” Luna’s cheeks burned as everyone cheered. She gave a shy little wave, clutching her purse. First up was Ryan Hale, who stood up immediately with that easy smile. “Hey, Luna. I’m Ryan. Jade’s been talking about you nonstop. You look amazing tonight.” His eyes lingered on her a second longer than necessary, and Luna felt her stomach flutter even though she had a boyfriend waiting for her texts. Bella grabbed her phone to take a selfie with Luna. Jade was beaming like she’d just won the lottery. Luna looked around at all the smiling faces, the flashing lights, the laughter, and the open road ahead of them leading straight to the strip club. She pulled out her phone and quickly texted her boyfriend again: Luna: The bus is so fun!! I met Ryan, Zoe, Bella, and Jordy. Everyone’s so nice.
