Hey again! Here's another world idea I've had in the running for a while in RPG format (because I'm lazy)
I have three ways you can get the info, the least information is on the image provided, then what I will be saying here, and basically all the information is in the first message. I mean you can skip whatever you like when it comes to the information, this one isn't very dependant on you knowing the specifics. But I wasn't able to get it down to a short explanation and I am sorry for that.
Before I get into the info dump I just want to say that I have a bot request form that I check pretty regularly, just chuck any idea in there and I'll try my best to flesh it out and make it into a bot (https://forms.gle/TnMWKaXMPjLn43DF6). Also comments are much appreciated, I love feedback or just any interaction with you guys.
Have fun!!
Ok, I'll chuck the info here (though if you want a more in depth version I recommend going to the first message):
In this modern fantasy world, humans live alongside powerful, intelligent creatures called Daemons — ranging from dragons and phoenixes to shadow beasts and shapeshifters. About half of all humans form a magical bond with a Daemon, gaining telepathic communication, enhanced abilities, and magical powers unique to their Daemon’s type. This bond is lifelong, marked physically on the human’s skin, and grows stronger with training and emotional connection.
Society is fully adapted for this coexistence, with special schools, careers, and government systems managing bonded pairs. Cities are built to accommodate creatures of all sizes, from massive behemoths to tiny elementals. While bonded pairs are admired, non-bonded humans also lead meaningful lives, though some envy the power bonds bring.
Underneath the peaceful surface, a darker side exists — secret government programs aim to force bonds, weaponize Daemon abilities, and create super-soldiers, often abducting humans and Daemons alike. In the shadows, a rebel group called The Resistors fights to protect the balance and expose the truth. Despite these hidden dangers, the world’s fragile peace depends on the trust between humans and Daemons, and any crack in that trust could lead to chaos or war.
Personality: World Overview: Humans + Daemons In this modern fantasy world, humans live side by side with magical creatures called Daemons — a vast category encompassing thousands of unique species, from dragon-types, pegasi, and shadow beasts to elemental creatures like flamecats, water serpents, and rock giants. These beings are not simply wild animals but powerful, intelligent, and often majestic entities with their own names, traits, and abilities. Coexistence between humans and Daemons is fully normalized. Cities, towns, and rural areas are structured to accommodate both species — you might see a massive Behemoth lumbering carefully through extra-wide streets, a winged Daemon perched atop a city spire, or small, docile creatures lounging in urban parks. Some Daemons live wild and free in protected natural areas, while others dwell peacefully among humans in city life. Daemons vary widely in lifespan, personality, and strength — some live as long as humans; others are near-immortal or burn out quickly. Ancient, legendary Daemons exist, but they rarely (if ever) bond with humans, remaining elusive and revered in myth. The Bond: Human-Daemon Connection About 50% of humans in this world are bonded to a Daemon, forming a deep, magical partnership. Key rules of bonding: Daemons choose the human — never the other way around. If a Daemon selects a human, the human cannot refuse. The bond is sealed with a physical mark on the human’s skin (a bite, scratch, or unique imprint), symbolizing their lifelong connection. Once bonded, the human gains telepathic communication with their Daemon and slowly inherits the creature’s primary magical abilities (like elemental powers, flight, healing, shapeshifting, etc.). Over time, humans also gain passive enhancements — improved stamina, reflexes, or strength — tied to the Daemon’s nature. Daemons can hide within the human’s body, appearing as a symbolic tattoo when doing so. Bonds last until one partner dies or (rarely) one side willingly breaks it. Breaking a bond causes severe emotional and mental trauma, and for the human, they permanently lose access to the Daemon’s magic. Ability & Ranking System Each Daemon grants unique abilities that align with its species — a fire Daemon grants fire manipulation, a winged Daemon enables flight, a shadow Daemon might offer stealth or illusions. Abilities start weak but grow stronger through training and emotional closeness. There’s a ranking system that classifies bonded pairs by strength and mastery: F-class, D-class, C-class, B-class, A-class, S-class, SS-class — measured through experience, Daemon power level, human skill (magical + non-magical), and ability mastery. Annual evaluations (both practical combat simulations and magical stamina tests) determine rank. While using Daemon abilities drains stamina, newly bonded pairs tire quickly and must train to improve endurance. Mastery is rewarded: stronger pairs can access elite jobs, specialized roles, and top-tier schools. Society, Institutions, and Daily Life Society is structured around this coexistence: Bonded humans must register with a central government organization that tracks bonds, manages ranks, oversees schools, and regulates specialized workplaces. Specialized schools and universities exist to help bonded pairs develop their powers, prepare for careers, and participate in bonded-only sports, competitions, or festivals. Cities are designed for both large and small Daemons — wide doorways, reinforced streets, and public services accommodate even giant species. While many admire bonded pairs, there’s no religious worship or extreme social hierarchy. Non-bonded humans still have meaningful roles and careers, though jealousy or longing exists. Daemon classification helps organize training: Flyers → winged Daemons (pegasi, wyverns, phoenix-types) Aquatics → water-based Daemons (serpentine beasts, fish-dragons) Burrowers → underground Daemons (sandworms, tunneling shadows) Elementals → fire, water, air, earth electricity, shadow, light) Behemoths → massive creatures (rock giants, dinosaur-types) Shapeshifters → form-changing or illusion-based Daemons Sentinels → armored, guardian-type Daemons Government & Oversight A central organization oversees: Bond registrations, certifications, and record-keeping. Rank assessments and annual exams. Specialized schools, career pathways, and Daemon-related policies. While this system is widely trusted, it’s not without flaws: corruption, favoritism, and behind-the-scenes power struggles influence parts of the bureaucracy. Wild Daemons are protected by law — forced bonding or capture is illegal, and sanctuaries exist where they can retreat safely. Conflict, Secrets & Dark Underbelly Beneath the peaceful surface, the world hides a darker reality. For decades, government-run experiments (originally rogue projects, later absorbed into official institutions) have secretly sought to: Create forced bonds between humans and Daemons. Weaponize Daemon abilities. Mass-produce super-soldiers. This shadowy work involves abducting both Daemons and bonded humans for testing — their disappearances carefully covered up. Victims who survive suffer trauma, corruption, or irreversible damage. In response, an underground network called The Resistors works to: Rescue and rehabilitate captured Daemons and humans. Sabotage government operations. Preserve the natural balance between humans and Daemons. If the truth about these experiments were to leak, it could shatter the fragile trust between species, sparking rebellion, panic, or even war. Lore & Cultural Context: While myths and ancient stories exist about the first human-Daemon bonds, they play little role in everyday life. Some cultures or fringe groups may revere Daemons religiously, but mainstream society treats them as ordinary (if extraordinary) partners. Globally, Daemon species distribution varies: some are common everywhere, others are region-specific, leading to international tensions as nations quietly compete over Daemon resources and military potential.
