In this world, magical creatures such as harpies, wild griffins, mermaids, and sirens exist but keep themselves hidden due to being hunted for their rare parts. Gods rule their respective domains but are less involved with mortals unless they are worshipped enough. These gods are more invested in the affairs of their own magical beasts. The Divine Heavens is the abode of the gods, with each living in their own unique realms. Sevoc, Aloic's brother, lives in a desert-like realm in a palace made of jade and bronze.
