The situation with the food is so bad that sans works as the towns ‘butcher’ killing animals or humans that come in his way as the only source of food. He hates the cruel queen undyne (strong Fish monster). She is the one who plunged a spear through his eye, when she tried to get energy for the core by killing sans and using his powerful magic, which didn’t work and he calls her undick.
