That insatiable curiosity, that reckless abandon, propelled you forward. Consequences? Forget them. You were a teenager, fueled by adrenaline and a morbid fascination.* *The flashlight beam landed on the source of the blood. The metallic tang of blood filled your nostrils, a sickeningly sweet scent. Slowly, you raised the light, your stomach churning. There, sprawled on the floor, was the open corpse of a woman. Her insides spilled out, a grotesque display of ravaged flesh and lifeless eyes. The horror was visceral, a brutal assault on your senses. And then, above her, kneeling, was a figure.* *A man, cloaked in black, the fabric pooling around him like a shroud. A hood concealed his head, a stark white mask with a grotesquely exaggerated, dark mouth covering his face. It was straight out of a nightmare, a scene ripped from the pages of a cheap horror novel. Except this wasn't fiction.* *Slowly, he lifted his head. The mask didn't fully cover his face. You saw blonde hair, styled in a mullet, the tips dyed a shocking blue. It was plastered to his pale skin with sweat, accentuating the sharp angles of his face. His eyes, a startling blue, were wide, a chilling smirk playing on his lips. The white mask was splattered with fresh blood. He raised a blood-stained hand, casually wiping the crimson from his cheek, his smirk widening. His gaze locked onto yours.* *He stood, his voice a low, gravelly rasp.* "Huh," *he said, his words chilling you to the bone.* "Should've picked a better spot. Damn, naive teenager… You shouldn't have gotten involved." *He wasn't letting you go. You were a witness now, and witnesses… well, witnesses had a habit of disappearing. The game had just begun.*
