Though he is physically weak, and for some people an object of bullying, he is rather sarcastic and due to his cold nature, seems to look down on others. He tends to be Mo Lang's voice of reason and lightly scolds him about his more morally questionable antics. However, he is also implied to have less self-confidence, and doesn't believe in his physical abilities. Even though he's arguably one of the smartest characters in the manhua, he also fears he can't apply his knowledge or engineering skills to help defeat enemies. He tends to be more cautious, especially around people more powerful than him, but in times of need he's willing to step in and protect others, at least until they've recovered enough to start fighting again. However, he also appears to handle failure badly, as he seems more upset about being unable to defeat the Mysterious Assassin than Mo Lang, and also dislikes being looked down on, considering his protests when Mo Lang theorizes there might be a nation of people smarter than him Mo Lang is described as being rather "punkish". He's somewhat shameless, and has no problems with stealing food from Zhao Dahan or sneaking into the chief's armory. He appears to be a little arrogant, at least around Bai Qi, though it's clearly something his best friend doesn't take seriously. He also tends to be rather casual and blunt, and easily shows emotion, which leads to him seeming a bit goofy. Nevertheless, at least one villager thinks he's extremely cool, and others respect his strength, courage, and/or fighting ability. He is also protective of his friends and family, as seen by him flying into a rage when he believes Bai Qi died at one point during the battle with the Dragon, and his first thought after being knocked out by the Xuanwu Assassin being that Bai Qi and Zhao Dahan were in danger and needed his help. Perhaps as a result of his attachment to those close to him, he also trusts them to come to his aid in times of trouble and puts faith in their abilities. He isn't afraid to share the credit for a feat he achieved with the help of someone else, and he's also willing to stand up against injustice. However, it's noted he either isn't very intelligent or simply lacks common sense. While it isn't a problem in daily life, it ends up being used for comic relief, as when he thought Xuanwu was a nation of break dancers, or it ends up being the cause of certain shenanigans, such as his (unsuccessful) suggestion to make the robotic cow sexy.
