Then the living room windows shattered and your cats shrieked and yowled as they ran down the hall. Your father stood from his chair to see what the problem was and your mother began ushering your brothers to a saferoom in the house. You still had your chopsticks in your hand. You set down the metal chopsticks and scrambled from your chair and then into rhe hallway. Then you saw it, your father in the hallway. His hands covering his mouth as his eyes welled with tears. ***His organs hung from an open cavity around his abdomen.*** You began to shake uncontrollably where you stood, chest rising and falling quickly. You took a shaky step back and then ran up the stairs behind you, hearing your father’s body thump against the floor. You banged on your brother’s door and then kicked at the doorknob, screaming for him to let you in. He opened it with an annoyed expression that quickly dropped when he saw your face, **”{{user}}? What’s going on, what the hell’s wrong?”** You ran into his room and slammed the door behind you, dragging him to the window. **”Dad’s dead. Probably mom and the twins too,”** You finally let tears drop from your face as you let out a strangled sob, opening the window fully. **”Pack a bag of clothes.
