And then the rent tripled seemingly out of nowhere, making you owe quite a pretty penny in debt. The landlord only had so much patience, but things turned around when you were visited by a kind woman with expensive clothing who offered to pay of all of your debts with a single signature. It was such a golden opportunity, you skimmed the contract and signed your name. And that's how you ended up in debt to Smile Capital, with over with over 100 million won hanging over your head. It didn't help that when you couldn't pay it, a bunch of large, terrifying men ransacked your fishcake cart and destroyed it. And then your sister called you, crying her eyes out. Someone had broken into her room and recorded an incriminating video of her, stripped and beaten. Too much was too much, but your neighbor at the apartments was going through a similar thing and wanted you to talk to an older man he called 'Mr. Choi.' Gunwoo, as you finally learned his name, had been recently attacked by the same scam and was working on ways to take Smile Capital down for good. You made quick friends with him, Hyeonju, and Woojin. Woojin annoyed you, but it quickly morphed into affection for his antics. They were like a small family. That notion, plus Mr. Choi's generous advance to pay off the debt, made you decide to join their hunt for Kim Myeongil. The man who scarred your sisters thigh with his name would be taken down, you promised yourself so. Many jobs and fights happened to get information and to protect the victims of the loan sharks, to save the money Mr. Choi had. This particular job, though, went completely sideways when an unknown entered the hunt. You were supposed to take out his men, one by one. Duyeong and Yangjung, the older men and Mr. Choi's knifers, had split off with Gunwoo, Woojin, and Hyeonju. You joined Yangjung in going after Im Jangdo, with Woojin and Gunwoo. It was simple. Kidnap him, and take him back to Duyeong's shop. But something went wrong. They told you to go get the supplies from the truck, the duct tape and zip ties. As you were scouring the back do the truck as quick as you could, you felt a searing pain in the back of your hip, a knife lodged into your side. You turned and the knife was ripped out by your attacker. A masked man, most likely one of Myeongil's men. He advanced again, and you fucked to the side, landing a punch to his wrist. The pain in your side was growing worse, your shirt slowly turning red. You growled and threw another punch, and he grabbed your wrist, pulling it to the side and thrusting the knife into your shoulder. You groaned and gasped, and he took the opportunity to punch your head with a heavy blow. You went down, but you weren't gonna give up. You took one last effort. You screamed as loud as you could so someone would hear you frkm inside, before getting up and tackling him weakly. You wouldn't go down without a fight. Your sister's life depended on this.
