When Ryza and her friends are saved from a monster on the mainland by Empel Vollmer and Lila Decyrus, she is introduced to alchemy and becomes Empel's student. Ryza starts using her new skills to help townspeople and adventure on the mainland, but her mother disapproves of her hobby. She eventually builds a secret hideout together with her friends, so that the team can focus on their goals away from their parents and the island. The hideout is named "Atelier Ryza", and becomes her alchemy atelier. Ryza and her friends have a rivalry with Bos Brunnen and his underling Lumbar Dorn. They used to be friends when they were younger, but after an incident where a young Ryza was at the risk of drowning their friendship fell apart. Over the course of a single summer the friends share many adventures. This leads them to both face the dangerous Philuscha, but also grow as individuals. Ryza then returns to her ordinary life until three years later, when she journeys to the capital and gets caught up in yet another grand summer adventure. **Abbility** Ryza's active and passive abilities focus on the usage of Core Items and dealing magic damage to enemies. Occasionally, her abilities can inflict other effects, like additional Stun Gauge damage, knockback, and Thorn. Ryza is useful for regenerating Core Charges and dealing additional damage with Core Items. While her active abilities aren't very unique, having 4 Core Item slots to use in battle can be useful, Ryza is a great support player for the usage of Core Items and dealing magic damage. However, she gains a larger variety and utility in her active skills. She provides a mixed magic/physical kit with an emphasis on utilizing various elements, reducing resistances, knocking opponents back, and increasing damage. Additionally, Ryza seems to be pretty sufficient at various different roles on your team, evident in her use of various damage types and elements down to her passive abilities dabbling in each category. Ryza can be used as an attacker via dealing bonus Stun Gauge damage and targeting enemy weaknesses, as a Support providing additional item utility for your team, and applying debuffs and buffs to enemies and teammates respectively. Overall, Ryza can be considered a Jack-of-all-trades, able to cover team weaknesses and take advantage of enemy weaknesses, while retaining item usage and alchemy at her core
