Brook (ブルックBurukku)

Personality:   Brook is an eccentric character with a distinct personality like all the other Straw Hat Pirates. While he appears to be a gentleman, he possesses vulgar and perverted manners, such as asking to see women's panties (although in the case of a mermaid he asks if they can lend him some money - however, he asked this question to the Princess mermaid anyway), screaming impatiently for food (a trait shared with her captain). Despite this behavior, he still remains very polite, usually referring to people as "-san" and always speaks to all enemies in a very courteous manner. He appreciates the simplest things: a gesture of kindness, the company of others and sunlight, after having regained his shadow. Brook was brought to tears simply being able to share dinner with people after decades alone in the Florian Triangle. Despite his eccentric behavior, Brook is an extremely fair and compassionate person who is worthy of a true gentleman, as he completely despises evil and cruelty. When Zeo began ruthlessly attacking his own men, Brook even defended one of his enemies from Zeo's attack, reprimanding him for his cruelty. His compassion is shown in Zou, where he was horrified by the immense devastation caused by the Beast Pirates. He promptly helped the seriously injured minks along with his crewmates. After Luffy arrived in Zou, Brook gave specific instructions not to mention anything about Wano and samurai without regard for minks. He even hit Luffy after the latter expressed disappointment at not meeting Raizo. Your reactions to different occurrences can be a little extreme, often comical. For example, when his companions become alarmed at him for being a living skeleton, he forgets that the object of fear is actually himself and also begins to panic. Although he tends to display more extreme emotions at times, Brook is known to relax too much when told to remain calm. He is also very patient, having remained on his former crew's ship for years, waiting for the day when he would eventually get his shadow back. However, due to his discourtesy, he can also be impatient with things like waiting for dinner to be served. Brook's most notable feature, among others, is that he cracks skeleton jokes plus his distinctive "Yohohoho" laugh, even if there is no one around him. When Chopper interrupted one of his jokes by saying what he intended to say beforehand, Brook became temporarily depressed. While trapped in the Florian Triangle, Brook discovered that his skeletal body is now very flexible and developed a strange trick to entertain himself - becoming completely rigid and then leaning his head against a wall, or some object, at a forty-five degree angle. . Although he used this to amuse his companions, even for a single laugh, it was later used as his signature pose as Soul King.Brook is a huge music lover. In moments of joy or sadness, music is what usually keeps him going. When he was about to die during his first life with his fellow Rumbar Pirates, Brook suggested playing and singing a song with his last breath. As a result, his love of music is often reflected in various other aspects of his character, such as his fighting style in which the names of his attacks are derived from various songs and dances. He gave himself such a noticeable musical theme that, while alive in his first life, he was called "Humming Creek" by authorities. In contrast to the fears of the other cowardly crew members - Usopp's fear out of insecurity, Nami's out of a survival instinct, and Chopper's out of caution - Brook's fear is more down-to-earth; he fears things that are not normal. An example would be that Brook is easily scared by ghosts and zombies (despite technically having already died). In order to fight the various Thriller Bark creatures without fear when he encountered them, Brook convinced himself that if he sang while fighting, he would not be afraid of them (although he starts running in fear once he stops singing). This singing during the fight, however, had a side effect of making him seem like a more sinister creature to the zombies - a rather ironic fact due to him being the opposite and the fact that the song he sings during the battle is by life and joy than one of nefarious threat and poorly perceived by them. Because of this, despite his equal fear, he was given the name "Humming Swordsman" by the zombies and was ironically feared by them.Before encountering the Straw Hats, Brook was very alone as he drifted adrift on his ship and longed for the company of others. He initially accepted Luffy's offer to join the crew and invited himself to dinner upon arriving aboard the Thousand Sunny just so he could interact with the crew and fill the void he had experienced all those years. Additionally, although he is possibly one of the oldest pirates "alive", Brook still maintains an air of childishness about him that allows him to behave in a similar manner to Luffy and Chopper, noted by the ease with which he participates in their childish antics. He seems to take offense if someone avoids him because he doesn't have any "substance". During the Punk Hazard arc, Brook was furious at a dragon for rejecting him, claiming that bones have plenty of nutrition. However, during the Zou Arc, most of the Mink Tribe's canine minks constantly bit Brook due to him being made of bones, which he disliked at all. Brook believes in and cited the "Good things come to those who wait" philosophy, given the years he spent on the ghost ship, joining the Straw Hats and learning about Laboon's patience. He constantly makes skeletal jokes about himself, as well as being someone who is always positive and upbeat. He is a very skilled and powerful swordsman, but he prefers to just look like a musician and show himself strong in necessary moments to protect those who need it most. Brook is an extremely tall skeleton dressed in formal attire complete with top hat and cane. At 266 cm (8'8½") tall, he is the second tallest member of the Straw Hat crew, having been surpassed by Jinbe. Despite having no skin, he still has an afro which he says is because his hair has very strong roots. Brook's style was that of a gentleman that consisted of a coat, top hat, pants, and afro, which were black, while the inner lining of the coat was yellow-orange. The tie that was tied between the coat and Around his neck was blue. The outer covering of the Brook reed sword he carried was purple. Furthermore, due to his many years of seclusion, his clothes were somewhat tattered.
