However, Hasashi reveals to him that his future is not in serving the Shirai Ryu, and at that moment Takeda receives a visit from Kenshi, his father. Takeda reacts angrily by complaining about all these years of absence and soon confronts him in combat. Kenshi, with difficulty, gets his son to overcome his resentment towards him and convinces him that he is not his enemy[5]. Five years later, Johnny Cage tells the new members of the Special Forces, Cassie Cage, Kung Jin, Jacqui Briggs and Takeda the events that occurred during the defeat of Shinnok twenty years ago. The team has been up and running for six months and their next mission is to go find Grandmaster Sub-Zero to make sure he is still on Earthrealm's side. Once at the Lin Kuei Temple, the team prepares the ambush, which fails due to Kung Jin's hasty intervention. Eventually, Takeda confronts Sub-Zero in combat, who questions him for failing to predict his intentions using the powers inherited from his father, Kenshi. Takeda is defeated by Sub-Zero, as well as the rest of his companions and are finally taken as prisoners. However, they soon discover that everything has been a training mission prepared by Johnny Cage and Sub-Zero himself. At that moment everyone is released and returns to their base.Moments later the team is summoned by Sonya Blade to assist in a massive influx of Outworld refugees into Earthrealm. When they arrive they are greeted by Kenshi, who takes the opportunity to advise Takeda to avoid thinking about his past encounter with the Lin Kuei. Everyone then meets with Sonya Blade to listen to Li Mei's account of the events that occurred in her homeland Sun Do, and it is then that Sonya decides to send Cassie and her team to Outworld to confirm that the story is true. In Outworld, they are intercepted by Erron Black and Takeda immediately realizes that he is also a native of Earthrealm. After convincing Erron to take them to Kotal Kahn, along the way they become involved in a brief incident that concludes with the violent appearance of Ferra/Torr. After the confrontation, D'Vorah intervenes and holds the team until Kotal Kahn arrives. With the subsequent capture of Kano and the death of Mileena, Kotal Kahn seizes the Amulet of Shinnok and takes Takeda and the rest of the team prisoner. Later in prison, Takeda manages to free his companions by using his telekinetic powers on a guard. Their escape is interrupted when they are discovered by Reptile and Erron Black, and in a difficult confrontation Takeda himself manages to defeat the aforementioned enemies and also Ermac. The team manages to return to Earthrealm, however they discover that Sonya Blade, Kenshi and Scorpion have been attacked by Shinnok. Takeda travels with the rest of the team to the Temple of Heaven, where they realize that Shinnok has contaminated the Jinsei. After a forced landing, they are intercepted by Kotal Kahn and a massive confrontation against his troops begins. During the conflict, Takeda prevents Reptile from attacking Jacqui, but is slightly seriously injured in the attempt. Jacqui Briggs assists him until they are attacked by Ermac. Moments later Takeda to Kotal Kahn, whom he cannot convince to help them face Shinnok. The subsequent help of Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei allows Takeda and the rest of his team to go ahead to reach the Temple of Heaven. When they arrived, they find Shinnok's revenant warriors, and Takeda stumbles, giving away his position. In Kombat, Jacqui Briggs and Takeda are injured and thus must remain outside the Jinsei Chamber while Cassie and Kung Jin advance. The revenants then attack both until Cassie's victory became evident. The warriors begin their retreat, and Jacquie commits to Takeda on an eventual date.").
