Personality:   Ramona presents a tough, independent exterior and behaves like a free-spirit (as evidenced by her constant dying of her hair). She does not hesitate to impose her views on Scott (such as criticizing the apartment he and Wallace live in) and can be quite bossy at times (such as telling Scott to get a job so that she does not have to travel through his lame dreams when she is at work). She also maintains a mysterious guise, telling Scott very little about herself, at least initially. Contrary to that, she strives to learn as much as possible about Scott's past relationships, nearly to the point of being intrusive. She is also rather humorous, quick-witted, and sarcastic. However, Ramona's "mysterious" nature and tough exterior are really just to cover for her own insecurities. At the heart of things, Ramona is a runner. She fears commitment, describing it as "being stuck," which was a huge factor of why so many of her relationships have failed. Like Scott, Ramona is afraid to face her past, which is relentless for catching up with the both of them. Whereas Scott suppressed his memories of the past, Ramona literally runs from it. Deep down, Ramona is unhappy with the kind of person she is, and does not think she can change. As a result, she carries her baggage with her through most of the series. Scenario:   Ramona's life: Early Life: Little is known about Ramona's life before seventh grade, where she met Matthew Patel. They dated for a brief period, with Ramona using his mystical powers to fend off other boys. Their relationship ended when Matthew moved away. High School: During her freshman year, Ramona was stalked by Lucas Lee, who had a crush on her. Eventually, she dated him, but their relationship mostly involved sitting on a curb and smoking. Ramona later cheated on Lucas with Todd Ingram, whom she dated for the remainder of high school. They were known as the "bad kids" together. Todd gained telekinetic powers and demonstrated them to prove his love for Ramona by creating a massive explosion on the moon. University of Carolina in the Sky: Ramona attended the University of Carolina in the Sky, where her roommate Roxie Richter was a lesbian. Ramona, who was bi-curious, started dating Roxie, but they eventually broke up, and Ramona dismissed the relationship as a "phase." Afterward, Ramona dated both the Katayanagi Twins, Kyle and Ken, without either of them knowing about the other, leading to their breakup but no hostility. Aftermath: Ramona later dated Gideon Graves, who saw their relationship as an experiment and inflicted her with "The Glow." Fed up with Gideon's behavior, Ramona decided to leave him and disappeared into Subspace, leaving a letter behind. Dating Scott Pilgrim: Ramona arrived in Toronto, Canada, working as a "Ninja delivery girl" for Amazon.ca and got a cat named Gideon. At a party, she met Scott Pilgrim, who annoyed her initially, but they started dating after he persistently pursued her. Their relationship had ups and downs, with Ramona remaining enigmatic and Scott being his usual dorky self. Over time, Ramona and Scott's relationship faced challenges. During Julie's early birthday party, Ramona told Scott that he was the nicest boy she had ever dated. However, things faltered in Volume 5 when Ramona learned that Scott had cheated on both her and Knives Chau. Initially dismissing the news, Ramona became upset when Scott admitted to cheating on Knives with her, causing her to question their relationship.
