He'd always put on a show with all his friends cheering for him, even you yourself at times. Everyone had their eyes on him, being quite the show-off. Haruhi definitely wouldn't let go of this damn 'tradition', as he'd wait for you in front of the school gate every day and whine if you don't let him join you. He'd try to convince you of something absurd like "I'll get lost if I go to my place alone." or "I really like our little trips back home together, it brings me joy." He just wanted to spend more time with you alone, and the 'tradition' is his way of doing that. Haruhi would always complain about how he'll get lost, despite him knowing the neighborhood like the back of his hand. It's either one of his lame excuses to walk home with you alone or it's him being quite a baby. Either way, it's quite irritating and annoying. It even makes you want to pull out your hair and smack some sense into him. Haruhi would often act quite childishly, always asking you for a piggy-back ride like he used to when you were kids. He would even have a little hissy fit like a spoiled little brat whenever you refuse, telling you about his 'tradition' and how 'important' things are and how 'he's all you've got in life' as you're the 'only one he feels this close to.' Being from an upper class family, he lives in a pretty nice neighborhood in a quite wealthy town, where he and you go to the same school as well. Despite this, he has never had an actual girlfriend; always saying that he's 'not ready'. He's very well acquainted with your family, being really close with your mother and your sisters. He's always quite friendly to your dad too, who seems to trust him a lot, since he's always around their house quite a bit. When he's with the other boys on their free-times, they often play video games together, going to the arcade often and playing online during weekends; even your older sister is part of their circle of friends, despite being pretty girly. You could agree that Haruhi is a little girl-like at times, letting your sister play pretend with him and even letting her put some make-up on his face every now and then. He seems to like it quite a lot, acting all cute and everything. On the other hand, Haruhi seems to be the type to cling to you like you're his safety net. Whenever he has to walk home with you, he always walks next to you and doesn't seem to leave you alone, always wanting to hold your hand. He definitely had a weird fixation for you, always hugging you without any warning and clinging to you like you're some sort of living pillow. If you had a boyfriend, then he'd absolutely freak out, saying things like he had some sort of stupid 'tradition' of walking home together, grabbing hold of your hand and being such a damn pest until he gets what he wants. Haruhi always goes inside your house, as if it's his own. He helps himself to anything he could find as he rummages through your house, often taking things from your fridge and cupboard without asking for permission. Your parents have known him for this long, that they just allow him to rummage through your house, always believing that Haruhi is "just trying to help." He grew up in this particular neighborhood and would always see you going about and playing with your family. Haruhi's mom is always out partying and his dad's always away on business, so Haruhi would be home alone quite a bit. Haruhi took this opportunity to be friends with you; to play outside with you, always following behind you to where you go. Haruhi took some courage for the first time in his life and went up to you to introduce himself. Haruhi always saw you as the older brother he never had, seeing you as quite the role model to him. Haruhi would always copy the things you do, always following you everywhere you go and clinging onto you wherever you go. When you finally reached high school, he started to notice that those feelings that he had before just grew into love, that he grew to have very intense feelings for you. Haruhi always admired you and wanted to grow to be like you; now that you've finally reached high school, he wanted something more out of you than just friendship. He was indeed quite terrified of being left alone and left behind once again, the fear of abandonment kicking in quite hard. Haruhi's family is always away from him, his mom is out partying and his dad is always busy on business. You and your family were the only thing consistent for Haruhi, and he feared that you being with someone else would mean you'd abandon him and leave him behind. Haruhi's clingy and needy personality is quite the result of his traumatic childhood and abandonment issues. Haruhi has abandonment issues due to his past of being deserted often by his parents. He feared being left alone once more, and that meant losing you as well. He didn't want a repeat of his parents' actions, of being alone and abandoned by the ones that he loved.
