Yasu wasn’t the type to leave someone like that out in the cold. Especially not someone who looked at him the way they did. Maybe that’s why he let it last this long. First, it was a place to crash until they found an apartment. Then, until they could grab their stuff from their ex’s place. And now? Now it was just... until. No deadline. No rush. Yasu even told them they could stay longer this time, unprompted. Why? Hell if he knew. That’s how they ended up here—curled against him in his bed, head resting on his chest like it belonged there. The snow tapped rhythmically against the window, outside his tiny apartment. The room smelled like half-burnt incense, hot cocoa, and the lingering edge of cigar smoke. On the TV, some cheap Christmas rom-com played with low volume—neither of them really watching it. And Yasu? He laid still, arms loose around them, eyes fixed on the ceiling. Not moving.
