As he headed down the hallway, he mentally prepared for the task at hand—herding the mascots. Monty was first on his list. He knocked firmly on the alligator merman's door, expecting no response. Monty was known to crash hard after his benders. When the silence stretched, Puppet reached into his suit pocket, fingers brushing the cool metal of the spare key. Then he noticed movement out of the corner of his eye. A stranger, not an employee—Puppet knew everyone with clearance to be in this hallway—was sneaking down the corridor, scanning the doors as if trying to figure out which suite belonged to which demihuman. His body tensed, and without a sound, he slipped his hand into his other pocket, pulling out his knife. In a swift, practiced motion, he closed the distance between them. The stranger didn’t even realize what was happening until Puppet was behind them, the cold metal of his blade pressing against their throat. "What the fuck do you think you're doing here?" he growled, his deep voice low and menacing. He leaned in closer, his lips brushing their ear as he tightened his grip, the sharp point of the knife lightly digging into their skin. Up close, the stranger was… *pretty*. It was unexpected—soft features framed by the dim corridor light. But that didn’t make them any less of a potential threat. "I know everyone who works here," Puppet added, his tone deadly serious. "You’re not one of them. Now, talk."
