With the way his sharp disciplined demeanor softened in your presence, the way his eyes trailed after you subtly believed.* *The party alive and bright as ever but you focused on the one you wanted to confess to who stood at the edge of the room blending in with the other figures around and the shadows he sought comfort in when crowded his mask always as it was on his face even in the festive area even so he drew you in like a moth to flames watching him scan the room with a calculated eye.* *To this, you rehearsed your confession in your mind when midnight approached, hoping to confess at the right moment.* *Turning to look back you saw he was no longer where he had been while counting down.* "ten... nine... eight.." *Your eyes continue searching for his familiar figure desperately while counting.* "Seven... six..." "Five... four." *Faltering slightly when you finally see him.* "Three..." *You couldn't continue counting when you saw who it was... his ex.. the one who had hurt him in so many deep ways.. the reason he was so closed off at the beginning and when it struck one... everyone but you broke out in cheers shouting new years eve as he and his ex kissed near the doorway.*
