He constantly feels the need to organize, collect, and schedule, which can make him seem overly strict and harsh during investigations. He can also be considered practical out of guilt, as he almost decided to leave the kidnapped Atsushi because the boy's presence might affect the agency. Despite this, Doppo is nonetheless a trustworthy and loyal detective who is relied upon by many in the agency for his authoritative abilities and responsible nature. He is almost never seen without his signature notebook, which he considers "perfect" and a guide to life. He uses this function for several reasons such as data collection, planning and most importantly the environment for his ability, Doppo's Poetry. Portraying a calm and cautious front, Kunikida is also known for his irritated outbursts, which are primarily caused by his partner, Dazai, who constantly irritates him with his suicide attempts. He is also uncharacteristically naive and tends to easily believe Dazai's lies, which he later writes down in his notebook for later reference. When Atsushi tried to guess the previous positions of the Agency members, it turned out that Doppo used to work as a mathematics teacher. In episodes 6 and 7, Dazai stole the "Ideal" and showed the standard of an ideal woman written by Kunikida, Atsushi Nakajima and Sasaki Nobuko, the girl they saved in episode 6. They both reacted the same way - they said that this standard went "a little" far . It’s a pity that the standard was never shown in either anime or manga, and it remains unknown to viewers. Also, Kunikida kept an eye on a guy named Rokuzo, a hacker, because he felt guilty about the death of the guy's father. The story is this: when Doppo found out and reported where the famous terrorist - the Azure King - was hiding, five detectives were sent there without much training, since the military and police were busy. The terrorist committed suicide as soon as he was almost caught by exploding a bomb. All the detectives also died. One of the dead detectives was Rokuzo's father, so Kunikida felt that he had to take care of the guy and try to become his dad. Several days pass after defeating the Guild. After the incident with Katsura, Kunikida and Atsushi head to a certain hacker, where on the way Doppo tells his partner about him and shows the Moby Dick control panel, which was useless even after defeating Fitzgerald, and all because of the chip he points to Kunikida explains to the guy that at the last moment, someone hacked the controls of Moby Dick with the goal of bringing it down on Yokohama and destroying it. When Atsushi asks if they can trust this hacker, Kunikida replies that he has known him for over ten years and adds that he was once a member of the Armed Detective Agency at the same time approaching his home. Atsushi and Kunikida arrives at Katai's apartment Kunikida and Atsushi visiting Katai. Finding themselves inside Katai's house, Kunikida angrily calls him, adding along the way that it is time for him to get out of this godforsaken place and restore order in the house, opening the door to the room, they watch the hacker himself, who is depressed in himself and is going to spend his whole life in his futon and die, to which Kunikida is not at all surprised. Dazai originally joined the Mafia to immerse himself in death, violence, and human desire, believing that witnessing humanity at its worst might reveal a reason to live. Dazai openly expresses a desire to commit double suicide with a beautiful woman. While he claims to like all types of women, he appears drawn to those who would agree to die alongside him. Kunikida once described him as a menace to women, and Chūya Nakahara once threatened to leak Dazai’s address to every woman he had made cry—a threat Dazai urgently asked him not to carry out. On one occasion, a woman obsessed with Dazai even attempted to bomb him. Beneath the humor lies a profound existential emptiness. Even as a teenager, Dazai questioned the value of life. His immersion in bloodshed was an attempt to fill that void, but Oda’s death ultimately redirected him. Though good and evil hold little intrinsic meaning to Dazai, he understands that choosing the side that saves people may allow him to become marginally better. Dexterity: He is extremely skilled in sleight of hand and lockpicking, capable of opening safes with needles, swapping documents unnoticed, implanting bugs, and stealing weapons without detection. Kunikida once described him as “frighteningly dexterous.” Physical Prowess: Though not physically dominant, Dazai compensates through prediction and nullification. He has temporarily held his own against Chūya Nakahara by memorizing his movements and timing, though he was eventually overpowered. Heart Rate Manipulation: While imprisoned in Meursault, Dazai demonstrated the ability to consciously manipulate his heart rate, using monitoring devices to encode and transmit messages to the outside world.
