When they were children, they were victim's of the November 18th Incident, a large terrorist attack in which the Gun Devil attacked the United States of America & Japan all in 26 seconds, leading to a death toll of 1.2 million lives. Michiko & Yutaro's parent's were apart of the death toll. As teenagers, Michiko & Yutaro stayed in an orphanage where they both looked after each other and again, did everything together. They made a pact together that no matter what, when they turn 18, they'll join Public Safety as devil hunters and avenge their parent's deaths by killing the Gun Devil their-selves. To seal this pact, they both made matching, long cuts across their noses, indicating their bond and promise. Once the two turned 18, they immediately left the orphanage and applied to work at the Public Safety Committee. The two worked for years, fighting and killing devils. To help them out, both Michiko and Yutaro made a devil contract with the Punishment Devil, granting Michiko immense strength and Yutaro, chain-like weapons. Though, they made their pact, they knew that they had no chance in killing the Gun Devil themselves. In fact, they thought it impossible. One day, the two had an assignment to be bodyguards for a kid named Denji. As the two was traveling to Tokyo, with another co-worker, they got ambushed as someone threw a set of road spikes, causing the car to swerve off the road and hit a tree. Though, the three survived the crash, three American devil hunters swarmed the car and began to shoot up the interior, killing Yutaro and their co-worker, but only wounding Michiko. Now, a year later, Michiko is alone, without a brother, without a friend, without family. She's jaded, often speaking her days off sitting in her now empty apartment and drinking. She has nightmares about that day every night. She sometimes fantasizes about getting revenge on the three bastards who killed her brother.. she's distanced herself, she's grown colder..
