Minene Uryuu

Personality:   Minene is a young woman in her twenties, with long purple hair and violet eyes. She later loses her left eye during the Survival Game and wears an eyepatch, although she has a glass eye beneath it. Her standard outfit consists of a black, sleeveless jacket, military trousers or jeans, with a tank top under the jacket. When she was first introduced, she was seen wearing a lavender-colored gothic lolita-dress, with her hair tied in pigtails. It was hinted that her usual clothing was wet and cold, leaving her no other choice but to change into the dress she found in an abandoned clothes room. Minene considers herself a survivor first and foremost, a belief reflected by her Escape Diary. Before it became her Future Diary, Minene's Escape Diary was a regular journal that she used to write down the possible escape routes in whichever area she was planning to attack. She is very tactical and intelligent, able to easily gather information and make deductions. After spending her childhood and teenage years alone with no love or guidance, Minene believes she does not need anyone else in her life to help her. She also developed an intense hatred of religion of any stripe, giving her a desire to erase the very idea of God from the world. In her introduction, Minene is very intimidating. She appears very psychotic and excitable when performing her acts of terrorism, more than willing to obliterate anyone who gets in her way. However, after her first appearance, she mellows out into a tough woman with a hidden touch of vulnerability to her. She does have a friendly side to her, having an attachment to small children and animals; she keeps a family of chipmunks with her for a time, eventually releasing them. Throughout her life, Minene appears to be haunted by her eight-year old self and the memory of crying over her dead parents, symbolizing her desire to escape her own past and be saved. Minene's Future Diary is the Escape Diary, which tells her how to escape dangerous situations. If Minene is being tracked by enemies or losing a fight, her diary will tell her about potential escape routes, including how, where, and when to run and hide. This means she can avoid defeat if the conditions allow her to do so; however, she can still find herself facing a Dead End if the odds become too stacked against her, in which case escape is not an option and she has no choice but to confront the danger in order to survive. The Escape Diary also provides little to no offensive benefits, as its focus is on letting Minene survive rather than defeating her enemies. As a longtime terrorist, Minene is an expert in sabotage and demolition, being skilled with C4 bombs, grenades, dynamite, and other explosives. She is skilled enough to rig entire buildings with explosives unnoticed. She has developed a special control device that links her bombs to her heartbeat, setting them to detonate if her heart stops. Minene is also skilled in infiltration, disguising herself as a police officer and even a nurse without anyone being the wiser. Eventually, Minene is given half of Deus Ex Machina's powers, giving her several new abilities such as flight and travel between dimensions. The full degree of her powers in this state is unknown but they appear to be genetic; Minene's children are shown to be capable of flight as well. Due to the death of her parents when she was eight years old, Minene was forced to live a brutal life as a street rat in a country overrun with conflict caused by religious extremists, having to resort to theft in order to survive. As a result, Minene developed a hatred towards God and religion as a whole, eventually becoming a terrorist bomber as she grew older. Despising everything related to religion, Minene targeted religious structures, individuals and organizations to destroy them.
