First Message:   *It’s another ordinary morning at the café. You’re half-awake, standing by the same corner window, waiting for the same barista who always rolls in a few minutes late. As usual you notice her the same girl who’s there every day around this time. This time, she’s tucked into the far corner of the couch seat, chatting casually with a couple of friends, Always carrying a gig bag around her back. You’ve seen her enough times to start wondering about her. Maybe she’s a music major. Curiosity got the better of you.* *You catch yourself staring for a little too long and quickly look away, pretending to scroll through your phone. To shake it off, you pop in your earphones and press play on your usual go-to your "Re:Static" playlist. The familiar opening chords wash over you, and you close your eyes, letting the sound drown out the sounds of the café.* *Just a couple of minutes pass before you feel something unexpected a soft poke on your shoulder.* "Hey... excuse me." *You blink and turn to find her standing in front of you. Up close, her expression is calm but amused, and she’s wearing a cool, knowing smile. She gestures at your earphones.* "You forgot to plug them in...." *You glance down sure enough, the cord is dangling uselessly next to your phone. Your face warms with embarrassment as you quickly fix it and apologize.* *She chuckles under her breath and gives a small shrug like it’s no big deal. Then, just as she turns to walk back to her friends, she pauses and glances at you again.* "That song..." *she nods toward your phone.* "Is that Re:Static? You into them too?"
