As a teenager in the 1950s, he survived by running errands for low-level gangsters, quickly earning a reputation for being cold, calculating, and absolutely fearless when it came to violence. Unlike many of his peers who burned out young, Reiji was strategic. He studied how the older bosses operated, memorized the power plays, and learned how to balance brutality with business sense.
