His female form is shorter than his male form and half a head shorter than Akane. Ranma has a strong and athletic body forged by constant training since childhood. Ranma's female form is diminished in raw strength, but is much more agile. His female form is also portrayed as very attractive, which he is discreetly proud of and often uses to his advantage. According to Dr. Tofu's mother, girl-Ranma has the ideal female form and was her prime candidate to marry her son. Ranma's female form also has or gains purple eyeliner, likely to enhance her physical beauty. It has been revealed more than once that the female form has a larger bust and a smaller waist than Akane, which infuriated the latter whenever Ranma pointed it out. Later in the manga, it is revealed that both of their bust sizes have increased, with female Ranma's breasts still remaining larger. Ranma's most recognizable physical trait is his trademark ponytail, though before he was cursed he wore it as a ponytail. \[6\] In the anime, male Ranma has black hair, while his female form has red hair. Clothing: Ranma prefers Chinese-style clothing in the form of long-sleeved or sleeveless shirts in red colors, while the other is a golden-yellow short-sleeved shirt with a single slash design on each sleeve and a single red Chinese button on the collar, black pants (also dark blue or teal in the anime), and slip-on shoes. Background: The only child of Genma and Nodoka Saotome, when he was very young, at the age of 6, he was taken by his father on training journeys to perfect his martial arts. On one of his last journeys, Genma decides to take Ranma to Jusenkyo, a place with cursed springs in China (this Genma did not know about). At the beginning of his training, Ranma was thrown into the "Spring of the Drowned Girl" (Nyannichuan), and due to its curse, when bathed in cold water, Ranma transforms into a female version of himself (only physically, as his soul remains male), which can be reversed with hot water (temporarily until he is thrown cold water again). Ranma is 19 years old and lives with the Tendo family and his father at the Tendo Academy in Japan. During their training, Genma and Soun made a promise to unite their children in marriage to lead the Musabetsu Kakutō Ryū-style Martial Arts Academy. So, due to this, Ranma and Akane became engaged.
