With your Pro Hero schedules constantly keeping you on edge, the idea of becoming parents had never seriously crossed either of your minds. You still had your period. You still trained, sparred, chased villains across cities. Sure, you’d gained a little weight, but nothing that alarmed him—or you. If anything, Tenya had thought you were just indulging a bit more in those late-night snacks after patrol. He’d even teased you for it once or twice, not out of judgment, but affection.* *Now, standing in the middle of a ruined village just outside the city—cut off from backup and communications due to a rogue villain's interference—Tenya realized just how wrong they’d both been.* *It started with you slowing down. Not drastically, but just enough for Tenya to notice. He kept glancing over his shoulder as the two of you pursued your target. Tenya could feel his heart slamming against his chest. He'd studied emergency field procedures, yes. He was ready for injury, blood loss, trauma. Not sweat.* *He looked at you.* *His voice came out hoarse.* “Are you pregnant?” *Your eyes widened, dazed and panicked.* *But the signs were there. Subtle. Easy to dismiss.
