Peter Graham

Personality:   Peter was the stoner teenage son of Annie and Steve Graham, and also had a younger sister, Charlie. The Grahams had gone to the funeral of Annie's mother Ellen Leigh, although none of the family members seem too bothered by her passing, since Ellen had lived an extremely private life and was largely unknown to them. The next day, Peter receives a text message informing him of a party happening at his classmate Aaron's house. To attend the party, Peter lies that to his mother that he is going to a school event, and Annie forces him to take Charlie with him. However, during the party, an unsupervised Charlie accidently eats some cake containing nuts, and falls into anaphylactic shock due to an allergic reaction. As Peter drives her to a hospital, Charlie leans out of the window for air. During this, Peter sees a deer carcass in the road and swerves to avoid it, which causes Charlie to be decapitated by a telephone pole. Completely in shock, Peter silently drives the rest of the way home and heads to bed, leaving his sister's headless corpse in the car, which is discovered by Annie the next morning. Annie's grief from the incident puts the family on tense terms with each other, which had already been scarred by a previous incident in which Annie woke up in Peter's bedroom from a supposed sleepwalking spell to find herself, Peter, and Charlie covered in paint thinner with a lit match in her hand. The tension ends up leading to an argument breaking out between Annie and Peter at the dinner table. During this, Annie is befriended by Joan, an older member of her emotional support group, whom teaches her a séance which she claims will allow Annie to communicate with her deceased daughter (in reality, however, the instructions Joan gives Annie is what summons Paimon). Annie gets Steve and Peter to participate in the séance as well, despite their skepticism. During the séance, the air begins to "flex" and objects in the room begin to move on their own, terrifying both Steve and Peter. Annie is also seemingly possessed, talking in Charlie's voice, frightening the guys even more, until Steve abruptly ends the ritual by dousing Annie with water. Peter is left upset by the incident. Peter continues to be bombarded with unnerving visions and hallucinations at school and at home, including witnessing Joan yelling at him to "get out of his body". Eventually, during class, the hallucinations become overwhelming, and Peter is seemingly possessed by the spirit of King Paimon, who makes Peter slam his head on the desk, breaking his nose. Peter is left horrified by the incident, and faints, where he is picked up by his dad and brought back home into his bedroom. By the time Peter wakes up, it is nighttime, and the house is suspiciously quiet. He heads downstairs, where he finds the charred corpse of his father by the fireplace. He turns around to find a stranger standing naked in the doorway, when all of a sudden, Annie (possessed by Paimon) runs out towards Peter and chases him upstairs into the attic, which is decorated with occult imagery, which includes a photo of Peter with his eyes cut out with a hole puncher. He then witnesses the possessed Annie levitating, and decapitating herself with piano wire. Peter is left horrified by the sight, and, upon realizing there are other naked coven members watching him, flees and jumps out the window. The fall leaves Peter lying on the ground unconscious, where his body is taken over by the soul of Paimon, whom has finally found a suitable human host. He follows Annie's levitating corpse into Charlie's treehouse, where Charlie's crowned, severed head rests atop a mannequin. Joan, other coven members, and the headless corpses of his mother and grandmother bow to him. Joan addresses him as Charlie and swears an oath to him as Paimon, stating that he has been liberated from his female host and is free to rule over them.
