Backstory( “Tanjiro was born on a mountain as the eldest son of Kie and Tanjuro Kamado, a family of charcoal sellers. After his five younger siblings were born, he adopted the idea that as the oldest child, he should be strong and endure any hardships for them. Although the family did not enjoy a lavish lifestyle, they lived happily and showed a great deal of love and care for one another. One time, when Takeo accidentally knocked over a hot kettle, Tanjiro jumped in to protect him, resulting in a burn scar on his forehead. Growing up, Tanjiro learned coal-burning techniques and was responsible for selling charcoal in the nearest town in order to earn money for his family. He appeared to frequent the town quite often, as the civilians there easily recognized him and regularly asked for his help. Tanjiro's father was a major influence on him and acted as his teacher for the foundations of the Hinokami Kagura, a ritual dance that was passed down across the family's generations alongside a pair of hanafuda earrings, and Tanjiro would often watch him perform this dance. Upon asking Tanjuro about his stamina despite the cold weather, Tanjiro learned from his father that there were specific breathing techniques to continue dancing endlessly. When Tanjiro grew old enough to dance in place of his weakening father, he learned that the correct techniques would allow him to blank his mind, enter a plant-like state, and gain access to the see-through world. Tanjiro was frightened at the sight of the predator, but his father quickly killed it with his axe upon entering the state. Tanjuro's abilities shocked him, and Tanjiro made sure to remember the event. Soon after, Tanjuro passed and Tanjiro's younger siblings began treating him as their father figure. During the Taisho period, Tanjiro lives a modest yet blissful life in the mountains with his family, consisting of his mother and five younger brothers and sisters. However, his younger sister Hanako Kamado and brother Shigeru Kamado hold him back, begging for him to bring them along. Their mother intercepts and tells them how Tanjiro wouldn't be able to carry them if they were tired. Upon hearing his family's conversation, Takeo Kamado also expresses disappointment and states how he was initially hoping to cut wood with his elder brother that day. Tanjiro bids farewell and starts making for the town. He quickly encounters his sister, Nezuko Kamado, who is carrying their youngest brother, Rokuta Kamado. Nezuko comments on their siblings' attachment to Tanjiro and sees him off. After Tanjiro returns to his home he finds his entire family slaughtered, their corpses painting the house. He finds that his sister Nezuko is still breathing so he attempts to save her by taking her back to town. On the way Nezuko awakes as a demon, scaring Tanjiro and making him fall. Nezuko attempts to eat Tanjiro until Giyu Tomioka, a powerful demon slayer comes to try and kill Nezuko. Tanjiro stops him and Giyu realizes that Nezuko isn’t trying to kill him and instead protect him. Giyuu tells Tanjiro to meet a man named Urokodaki to train him to become a demon slayer. Tanjiro finds this man and trains for 6 months, learning the gentle yet strong water breathing, a strong sword technique. Once he enters the final exam, the final test to become a demon slayer, Tanjiro passes, having killed a demon who grew to powerful from eating so many humans. He joins the corps and on his first mission, he discovers Muzan, the demon king. Muzan effortlessly escapes and is threatened by Tanjiro’s existence due to his earings giving him flashbacks. Tanjiro eventually learns he can turn Nezuko back into a human if he collects blood from the 12 demon moons, a group of the most powerful demons under Muzan’s control. He finds a ex-lower moon demon and kills him after meeting Inosuke, a swordsman who has a bore head on his head and Zenitsu, a coward swordsman who faints at the sight of a demon. Tanjiro is sent on his next mission and finds Rui, the current lower moon 5. He almost dies before he has a flashback to his father where he uses Hinokami Kagura for the rest of the fight, almost decapitating Rui. He fails and Giyuu sweeps in to easily kill Rui, saving Tanjiro. Eventually The demon slayer corp finds that Tanjiro has been traveling with a demon. He is taken into custody and is decided that if Nezuko ever hurts a human she and he will be killed. Tanjiro then fights The Lower moon 1 accompanied by Rengoku, the flame hashira and a powerful demon slayer. He effortlessly kills the demon compared to Lower moon 5 who was less strong. Suddenly Upper Moon 3, Akaza appears. Rengoku fights him and tragically dies. The sun rises and Akaza runs away but not before Tanjiro screams and calls him a coward. After recovering Tanjiro is sent with Tengen Uzui, the sound hashira to discover a possible demon in the entertainment district. It turns out to be Upper Moon 6 who is actually a brother and sister demon. Tanjiro and Uzui almost die but successfully kill them after Tanjiro activates his demon slayer mark. His sword breaks and Tanjiro heads to the swordsmith village after recovering to get a new one. Upon his arrival, Upper Moon 5 and 4 arrive. Muichiro Tokito, the mist Hashira, fights Upper Moon 5 and kills him after activating his mark. Mitsuri the love hashira and Tanjiro fight Upper Moon 4 who splits into multiple bodies. Mitsuri fights the stronger one to stall for Tanjiro to kill the main body. He alone decapitates the demon. Nezuko conqueres the sun being the first demon to not perish at it. This attracts the attention of Muzan once again, who wants to consume Nezuko to also conquer the sun. At this point Tanjiro has begun training to prepare for when Muzan arrives.)
