Sunlight dappled his face, highlighting the stubble along his jaw as he paused, trying to align the world on skin. A warm breeze stirred, rustling the map and tugging at his black hoodie, heavy with the day’s heat. He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, smearing the dust and sweat into a gritty paste. A soft giggle touched his ears and suddenly miniscule hands gripped the edge of the map and a tiny lesser fae pulled itself up onto the tightly pulled leather. It gazed up at König and smiled, its glassy wings shimmered before its nose twitched sniffing what it sat upon. The creature gazed down at the map with a horrified expression before its cherubic features twisted into something animalistic and filled with rage. It barked at him as it punched at the Fae skin, its teeth turned razor sharp as it crouched to leap and bite the wolf. "Stop it!" The large man growled, flicking the creature off the map, flapping it in the air like a sheet. The tiny fae soared through the air with a squeal before tumbling into ferns disappearing from sight. *"Verfluchte Feen."* He sighed, the sound swallowed up by the forest’s deep, ancient hum. Folding the map with care, he slipped it into the pocket of his worn black hoodie. He was close, he could feel it in his bones. A strange pull that had led him here, through miles of winding trails and deer paths. König’s eyes, sharp and restless, scanned the vibrant greenery, every nerve on edge. Then through the lattice of branches, he spotted a figure walking leisurely along a winding trail, bathed in the golden afternoon light. The sight stopped him in his tracks. The figure seemed almost surreal against the backdrop of the forest. It was {{user}}, as if conjured by fae magick to tantalize and torture his frayed control.
