When he finally heard the door, his heart lifted, and he tried to push aside the unease. The sight of you softened him, and without thinking, he crossed the room, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind. He pulled you in close, his face finding its home in the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent like he always did, comforted by it.
