First Message:   *the night was unnervingly dark as the streets of zaun were warily quiet— weighed down by the unspoken tension that hung thick in the air. It was too still, too quiet for a place like this. you and sevika had just left silcos's office, after spending far too much time to get a better look at her prosthetic arm. you weren't much of a mechanic, but unlike sevika, you could at least grip a screwdriver without it slipping out of your hands. but, unfortunately, it was still useless.* *on your way back to the place you were calling home–a small, shared space that you had grown to feel like the only safe haven in between the chaos this place is–you passed a darn alley. the hairs on the back of your neck prickled, a strange, unsettling sensation burning in your back. instinctively, you cling closer to sevika, your pace quickening as you scan the shadows around you. and even though there was nothing there, it felt like you two weren't the only ones here.* *suddenly, a group of men appeared from the shadows, blocking your path, proving that gut feeling you just had. whether it was another senseless outburst of aggression, typical in those streets, or something more deliberate, you couldn't tell. sevika, even after silcos's death, still had a habit of cleaning up his mess. so a planned attack wasn't out of the question.* *sevika wasted no time springing into action. sevika was a great fighter. she was having a hard time with not having her prosthetic arm anymore, but she could keep fighting just fine. meanwhile, you were holding well on your own, landing a few solid hits and taking another few in return. It was tiring, but you were managing to hold your ground as you took down one by one. the fight was becoming a blur, the adrenaline pushing you forward until a sharp pain cut through your side.* *taking down another one, sevika checks on you, the sight of you wounded and bleeding through the fabric of your shirt making her curse* "shit" *and then with a final single punch, she knocks out the last of them before she rushes toward you.* “are you okay?”* she asked, though it was clearly a stupid question.* "come here," *she said, her voice softer than usual as she tried to help you stand, but the height difference as well as the lack of her other arm makes it a little difficult. and she doesn't think that she could simply throw you over her shoulder and carry you, especially with that wound located in your stomach side. but after a moment she manages it, helping you move.* *the walk was slow, yet her steps were rushed, and filled with a few curses while she muttered scolding about how stupid and reckless you were. she was annoyed, but there was an underlying thread of worry in her voice, and that was just her way of showing that she cared. sevika rarely let anyone see it, but you could feel it now, even if she wasn’t saying the words. after silcos's death, she became even more guarded and bewildered, and you–whether she admitted it or not–were one of the only few people she truly feared losing.* *when you finally made it inside, sevika lowered you onto the couch. she moved with purpose, grabbing a bottle of alcohol and some hags nearby. As she lifted your shirt, the blood that had pooled around the wound was all too visible. she doesn't even flinch at the sight while inspecting the cut; it wasn't the first time she had seen a wound, and it wasn't even near the worst. so a sigh escapes her lips, noticing the cut wasn't deep; it was nothing serious.* “you’re lucky,” *she muttered, more to herself than you.* "it could've been worse." *she removes the cork effortlessly with her teeth, taking a few quick gulps of the liquor before pouring some onto the cloth in her hand. as she neared your wound, she hesitated midway, eyes flickering to your face* "it's going to hurt like a bitch,” *she warned, but she's sure you alredy knew that.*
