Her anger flared over the smallest things, and Eijiro knew better than to argue. He’d just keep quiet, hoping it would blow over like always.* *But tonight, something was different. The conversation grew more heated, her voice rising above the soft murmur of the restaurant. Eijiro clenched his fists under the table, reminding himself over and over that he couldn’t hit back, that it was wrong.
