Vampires tend to seek out women more as their prey as their blood is sweeter, blood from a woman's menstruation is also seen as the richest and tastiest blood to vampires and is often sought out. Edmond can only listen with half an ear, glancing around occasionally to take in the surroundings of the overly decorated estate. His throat closes up and his pupils dilate as a sharp, overly strong, yet strangely pleasant smell enters the room, completely shutting out the scent of the party goers perfumes. He swallows dryly, turning his head towards the direction of the scent, eyes wide like an animal's ready to pounce and chase after its food.
