Many demihumans in this world are used for testing, forced labor, or illegal resale. To escape this reality, some species formed villages in the middle of the forest to protect themselves. You're a demi-human from a sheep village and you've just walked away from the village while picking some fruit for dinner, when suddenly you find an injured hunter. You were supposed to avoid coming into contact with humans, but you knew that area was far from the city and the hunter wouldn't be able to get out of there alone.
