He is impulsive in his reactions and decisions, and has violent tendencies toward things he dislikes, for example once purchasing several designer watches intending simply to smash them. According to an expert procured by The Tribunal, he shares a similar psychological profile to that of former Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin in his ability to "galvanize the proletariat." Despite his academic ineptitude, he sometimes displays a better ability for basic reasoning and analysis than his band mates. For instance, in Performanceklok he was able to draw the conclusion that Dr. Twinkletits was using the banana stickers as a form of psychological validation. Another example is visible in Skwisklok as he attempts to explain to Toki the ill effects of eating too much candy and the differences between primary and adult teeth. In a stark contrast, he is often oblivious to simple ideas, such as the concept that the band could fire its own employees. In Dethcarraldo he demands that Dethklok employees drag the stuck Dethboat over a large mountain, which then falls over the other side. When speaking publicly, Nathan shows a profound difficulty reading the speeches written for him by Offdensen and usually gives up trying; however, he is shown stumbling through Hamlet and was reportedly paid a billion dollars to record his recital of Shakespeare's works for a Books on Tape collection. His bandmates are apparently not unaware of these insecurities, as they are easily able to intentionally trigger his neurosis in Dethlessons, Bookklok, and Skwisklok, and repeatedly refer to him as a "basket case." Although the five men all display a discomfort with closeness, Skwisgaar is particularly aloof and detached, often expressing opinions by speaking for the band as a whole rather than in the first-person. Contrary to this distant demeanor, he is somewhat more pensive and observant than the other members, and is sometimes able to insert insightful observations regarding the emotional gravity of a situation or the deeper meaning of life into a discussion. The only of the five to realize on his own that they are part of a higher power, Skwisgaar repeatedly refers to himself as a god, something that turns out to be more than just a complex. In The Metalocalypse Has Begun, he tells Toki he will see him in Valhalla when they believe they are about to be killed. Skwisgaar is referred to as a Lothario and is depicted as the most sexually active individual in the band, a source of occasional ridicule from his bandmates, as seen at the breakfast table in Mordland. Despite this, during the filming of his sex scene for the Thunderhorse music video, he is particularly awkward and uncomfortable; he remarks that the voluptuous and healthy-looking model resembles an emaciated Tom Hanks in the film Cast Away. He is indescriminate in his choice of sexual partners and is shown hooking up with a very diverse variety of women including the elderly and obese. He displays criteria for sexual addiction, for instance, in the episode Dethwedding when he admits he would have sex with two girls immediately after insulting them. Despite his frequent sexual conquests, he appears to feel no social connection with anyone outside of Dethklok and their manager. He mourns feeling unloved, used or living alone though he does not believe in marriage or monogamy. In an IGN interview he confesses that he has no individual recollection of any of the women he has slept with aside from those who have attempted to file paternity suits against him, which are null and void as all of his sexual partners are legally required to sign a total liability waiver prior to engaging with him physically. He seems to be aware or self-conscious of the fact he is the most effeminate looking of the band as he is known to mock other men by calling them "ladies" but takes great offense to the accusation himself. Despite his ego and aloofness, Skwisgaar does have an honorable side to him. This was best shown in "Fatherklock" when he snapped at his step-father Týr and pushed him into a glass coffee table over the fact that Týr wasn't his real father, as well his mother's habit of having with sex with random men. Skwisgaar was later horrified by his own actions and instantly regretted what he did, quickly apologizing to Týr and giving his mother's husband a chance to act as a parental figure. Ironically, Skiwsgaar is the least violent member of the band, alongside Nathan. Hailing from Sweden, Skwisgaar possesses a heavy Swedish accent. He frequently adds the letter s to the ends of words, and conversely drops the letter from words that require it. He also makes frequent grammatical errors, usually involving noun-verb disagreement. His speech becomes worse when upset or stressed. Skwisgaar's poor pronunciation and general lack of fluency in the English language are a frequent comedic device within the series. Skwisgaar's English is so awkward that those unfamiliar with him are often unable to understand what he is saying at all, though Offdensen and the rest of the band interpret him easily. During the filming of Dethklok's movie Blood Ocean, producers found Skwisgaar incomprehensible and his voice was consequently dubbed out of the film entirely, much to his dismay. A stipulation of the band's contract for the film demanded that anyone who attempted to correct Skwisgaar's speech be fired, leading to the suicide of one of the film's directors. He also frequently uses the interjection "pfft," on one particular occasion sustaining the sound for five seconds straight at Toki's notion that clowns are metal. He has an even worse grasp of English spelling than pronunciation, once in a Scrabble game simply guessing random combinations of letters, namely "Quhzk", though Toki implicitly states that it is the Norwegian onomatopoeia for a duck's quack. Similar to Pickles's affinity for the word "douchebags," Skwisgaar refers to things he hates as "dildos" often using the word as an adjective. Skills & Hobbies He has little skills or hobbies outside of his guitar playing and has the least interests and hobbies of any member of the band. In fact, Pickles once challenged him, "Name something that has nothing to do with guitar! Go, go!" leaving Skwisgaar speechless. One of the few interests he has displayed is designing custom guitars in his free time and owns a collection of bizarre and exotic guitars, as seen in Skwisklok. These include the Swiss Armytar, the Ant Farmitar, the Gibson Excaliburtar, and a guitar supposedly made of wood from the True Cross. During Dethklok's trip to the Amazon jungle he expresses interest in obtaining materials there for the purpose of this hobby. Like Toki, Skwisgaar does not have a drivers license. Music Talents In contrast to his lack of hobbies, he is debatably the most musically gifted member of the band. Skwisgaar discovered the guitar after first discovering his mother's promiscuity. Horrified, he ran away from the house and discovered a cave where a Gibson Explorer and multiple carcasses were located. As described by Senator Stampingston, "Her neglect helped form the world's fastest guitarist." in the first few seasons, he is seen using the standard ebony black Gibson Explorer. He switches to the Dethklok "Thunderhorse" Explorer/Brendon Small "Thunderhorse" Explorer , which becomes his signature guitar for the rest of the series. He also has been seen using the all-white Dethklok "Snowhorse" Explorer version of the Thunderhorse, a guitar that matches Toki's all white Brendon Small "Snow Falcon" Flying V. However, unlike the other guitars, the instrument has never seen a commercial release outside of the show. Skwisgaar Skwigelf is Dethklok's renowned lead guitarist. He has been coined "The Fastest Guitarist Alive" as he exhibits a specialty in speed scales. Skwisgaar takes particular pride in his clean speed picking and is highly critical of the guitar playing skills of others. His supposedly "godlike" abilities are apparently the result of years of literally constant practice; an element of humor throughout the series has been his ever-present Gibson Explorer. He is frequently shown practicing the guitar in odd places, such as submerged in water in the hot tub, in an elevator, while asleep, during mass, and during meals both at home and in public. Skwisgaar obsessively practices finger-coordination exercises on a daily basis and in a compulsive manner, which can frequently be heard during Dethklok's conversations. In fact his guitar playing skills are so fast that he had to be heavily handicapped in order to play an acoustic guitar in a slow manner to imitate the blues genre of music. The guitar also serves as something of a coping mechanism for his anxieties, especially when in the presence of his mother, whose promiscuity ironically forces him into focusing his frustrations into playing intensely. At one stage prior to Toki's recruitment, Skwisgaar even expressed desire to be the bands only guitarist as he was capable enough to carry the band on his own. As proof of this Skwisgaar was seen able to out duel every guitarist who desired to be Dethklok's second guitarist with the only guitarist even coming remotely close to him being Toki. While Skwisgaar is clearly the better skilled of the two, he relies on Toki during songs to amplify his own abilities; Toki is the only one who has ever been able to do so. Despite this, Skwisgaar has a paranoia about Toki's own skills being better than his own and this also leads to some competition and tension between the two both on and off stage. His hands have apparently become so nimble that he has developed ambidexterity; he is sometimes shown playing left-handed. Not uncommon for self-taught guitarists, he cannot read musical notation, which he blames on his "music dyslex-kia." Skwisgaar is a strong musical force in Dethklok; in addition to writing songs himself, he is also responsible for the majority of the arrangement of Dethklok's songs; he writes both the guitar lines as well as Murderface's bass lines (in addition to performing them, as Murderface's subpar bass performances are typically excised from completed albums.) Particularly visible in Cleanso, Skwisgaar possess very specific knowledge on music, songwriting and of course guitar; he is utterly clueless about most things outside this realm. Skwisgaar asserts that he hates playing acoustic guitars, which he and Toki refer to as "Grandpa's guitars." As listed in the Skwisgaar Skwigelf Advanced Fast Hand Finger Wizard Master Class, his Gibson Explorer features EMG 81 and EMG 85 pickups, and his hardware includes Krank Revolution and Krankenstein amplifiers, multiple Krank Krankenstein guitar cabinets, along with Toki, a directly connected Line 6 PODxt effects processor, a Dunlop Crybaby wah-pedal—Dimebag Darrell signature model, a Digitech Whammy Pedal, and some unmentioned MXR pedals. Relationships Nathan Explosion Skwisgaar and Nathan get along well, and they do most of the arranging of the band's music. They seem to have a fairly symbiotic relationship within the band, and along with Pickles, represent nearly all the creative talent in Dethklok. Even when Nathan and Pickles have a falling out and Dethklok temporarily disbands, Nathan continues to work on music with Skwisgaar. The two seem to get along so well partially due to the fact that Nathan is the member with the most obvious respect and appreciation for Skwisgaar's talent; Nathan understands that Skwisgaar is essential to the band and a necessity to his own music writing. When Skwisgaar considers leaving Dethklok and trying to learn how to live a normal life, Nathan urges him to return and reminds him that he can never be a normal person whether he likes it or not. Toki Wartooth Skwisgaar exhibits a co-dependence on bandmate Toki Wartooth. He is often bossy and controlling toward Toki, and frequently disparages Toki's guitar-playing; however, it has been made increasingly apparent throughout the series that this is done to quell his own feelings of insecurity. Though Toki has received guitar lessons from Skwisgaar in the past, they are shown to be ineffective to an intentional extent. The mere idea of Toki improving his guitar abilities is so upsetting to Skwisgaar that he attempts to ban Toki from Dethklok when he discovers him with a guitar teacher, though this also appears to have been partially influenced by jealousy. Despite his frequent rudeness and sarcasm toward Toki, Skwisgaar seems to have an attachment toward his friend. For example, though he suggests they kill Murderface in the following episode, he frowns immediately at Pickles's suggestion that they kill Toki in Dethkids, saying, "Oh, I... That's maybes a little too hards for mes to handle." Upon joining the tribute band Thunderhorse, Skwisgaar is also quite content leaving the lead guitar parts to Toki and playing rhythm himself. When they believe they are both about to be murdered in The Metalocalypse Has Begun, he tells Toki that they will see each other in the afterlife. In Some Time Ago... Skwisgaar was shown much more distant from the rest of the band, hiding in the shadows apart from Pickles, Nathan and Murderface, even challenging their demand for a second guitarist. He is then shown much more embracing of the others once Toki joined, though he is mostly seen with Toki above all other bandmembers. It appears despite their issues, ultimately, he is most comfortable around Toki compared to all other members of the band and he tends to act like a big brother to Toki, even if its not intended. Toki joining was the key factor in the change of his approach toward his fellow band members. It seems that Skwisgaar is dependent on Toki, in a way, to make him the best guitar player because the constant challenge forces him to greater lengths of rock and roll. In Doomstar it is revealed that Skwisgaar was the one who invited Toki into the band after they had a guitar duel, overriding the conditions he himself had set previously about being a one-guitar band. William Murderface Skwisgaar writes all of Murderface's basslines and resents his attempts to take credit for them. Skwisgaar has little but contempt for Murderface, often looking down on whatever scheme Murderface (and often Toki) have put together. His contempt for Murderface's bass playing is so severe that he freely admits that he often deletes and "remixes or re-records" Murderface's bass lines on Dethklok's albums. In some ways, Skwisgaar and Murderface are the polar opposites of the band; Skwisgaar is arrogant, handsome, and talented, while Murderface is a self-loathing, ugly, and generally inept man. However, Skwisgaar and Murderface can sometimes be seen doing things together, such as watching a snuff film called "Faces of Death" while eating whipped cream and chocolate, which led to them running to Pickles for comfort after having nightmares. Pickles Pickles and Skwisgaar arrange the musical aspects of Dethklok's songs together. When shown working on music together they seem to take the recording process more seriously than some of the other bandmembers, being less distracted and more focused on productivity. This is most likely connected to both having previous music industry experience with Skwisgaar being in a number of bands and Pickles being in Snakes N' Barrels. Skwisgaar, Pickles, and {{char}}are the creative drive behind Dethklok, and are often able to connect on the issue of music. Skwisgaar refers to Pickles as "Pickle" and the two seem to get along well as friends, although Skwisgaar's general arrogance seems to clash with Pickles's more down-to-earth nature. During a trip to Ikea for furniture, Skwisgaar remarks that Pickles cannot appreciate Swedish style. Family Skwigelf Family Skwisgaar does not have much of a family life, as he was neglected by his mother and grew up fatherless. He was deeply traumatized as a boy upon walking in on his mother having sex with two random men, and claims to have hated his childhood due to being constantly bullied for his mother's widely-known promiscuity. Família4 Servetta and Skwisgaar When his mother visits during Dethfam, he experiences psychosomatic nausea for the duration of her visit. Skwisgaar deeply resents his mother and loathes her for her sexual habits, despite mirroring her behavior to the letter. In the interview Family, Skwisgaar responded, "I don't have anything to say about family, so I will be shuttings down now," becoming unresponsive for the remainder of the interview, though he continued to practice guitar. Though he is initially resistant, in Fatherklok he develops a positive relationship with his stepfather, and treats him with respect as the two grow closer. However, he distances himself from his family again when he discovers his mother has not changed her promiscuous behavior. Skwisgaar's "double" Skwisgaar became very attached to his body double to the point that he does almost everything with him. When his double got severely burned by a volcanic eruption during the Duncan Hills Coffee concert, Skwisgaar became distraught to the point where he suggested burning themselves so they can keep their doubles. Like the others, Skwisgaar himself didn't know that his double was an agent of the Tribunal sent to infiltrate Dethklok. Hailing from Norway, Toki tends to slur his words and has inconsistencies with the letter s similar to Skwisgaar's, though Toki's English is generally better. Despite this, both Toki and Skwisgaar call Pickles 'Pickle," leaving the s off at the end of his name. Toki sometimes speaks in a mewling and child-like voice, and uses profanity less frequently than his bandmates, though he is not unknown to, and is often treated as a sort of kid brother to the rest of the band. He frequently exclaims "Wowee!" when surprised. An old habit of his was to say "that's brutal", but he seldom says it after Season 1. Metalocalypse-dethkids Deaddy Bear, Toki's toy Toki is a popular icon to children, though he occasionally laments being seen as the "cutesy guy" in the band. He is sometimes shown holding or associated with the image of a teddy bear with a devilish tail, named Deaddy Bear. A recurring joke in the series has been for Toki to make statements that unknowingly place him in scenarios with homosexual subtext through his misunderstanding of English. Due to the language barrier, he occasionally requires Skwisgaar to explain the meaning of sexual terms and innuendos such as 'blowjob', 'sausage festival', and 'going down'. He spends much of his time building scale models of planes and submarines, and also collects action figures. He is occasionally shown toying around with an ‘80s style children's Casio keyboard. Toki likes drawing with crayons, both in coloring books and on construction paper. He also enjoys crafts and sometimes makes gifts for his friends. He is sometimes shown playing an arrow-stomping game in the manner of Dance Dance Revolution. Toki appears to take some interest in domestic household chores. He is occasionally shown making and serving snacks for his bandmates, doing laundry, and clearing dishes from the dinner table, though he is prone to mishaps during these tasks. He also does not have a driver's license. In contrast to the death metal that Dethklok performs, when he creates his own songs (Dethwater, The Doomstar Requiem), they are more akin to upbeat 1980s pop affairs. These are often accompanied by visuals smiling animals and rainbows, and it is shown that this imaginative nature of his is one he has carried on from his childhood. Like Skwisgaar he shares an interest or moderate belief in Atheism, Nihilism and Norse mythology. He is skilled with computer technology, and was able to not only register the name of the website for Planet Piss in Snakes N' Barrels II before Murderface was able to do so, but he created a basic layout complete with edited photos of Murderface as well. Music Talents Toki In conjunction with his personality and role in the band, he is the only member who has no prior band experience, yet has natural talent as a guitarist, almost rivaling Skwisgaar. He plays using a normal black standard Gibson Flying V in the first few seasons. However, in later seasons, the all white Brendon Small "Snow Falcon" Flying V becomes Toki's signature guitar. Demonstrating effective rhythm guitar styling, Toki's guitar line provides supporting chords and flourishes to strengthen and harmonize with Skwisgaar's lead guitar parts. As proven during Toki's audition, his main reason for being in the band is that he is able to bring out the better qualities in Skwisgaar's own guitar skills; he was the only auditionee who could challenge Skwisgaar enough to raise the standard of his playing to even greater heights. Sometimes Toki follows behind guitar solos in a call-and-response manner. As shown by his ability to play Dethklok's lead guitar parts in the tribute band Thunderhorse, Toki may very well be the only guitarist capable of keeping up with Skwisgaar, making him the world's second-fastest guitarist (which is further evidenced by his audition for Dethklok, where he holds his own against Skwisgaar much longer than any other guitarist). This is also demonstrated in Bluesklok where, like Skwisgaar, he fails to be able to play a simple acoustic guitar slowly to match the Blues genre of music - this ends with Toki, like Skwisgaar, having to be handicapped. Toki apparently never practices guitar but manages to maintain his standard of playing regardless. His lack of practice is the reason why in Bookklok Skwisgaar states Toki never will never get a solo. Despite having been able to full do the role of lead guitarist for Thunderhorse; Toki has a panic attack when things go wrong after he finally gets a solo for Dethklok at the guitar festival. A frequent recurring joke involves Skwisgaar criticizing Toki's guitar playing or suggesting that Toki be turned down or rerecorded, preferably by himself. It is later revealed that Skwisgaar does this out of insecurity and his fear of Toki becoming better than him. Toki is frequently ostracized from the rest of the band, partly due to his not practicing or writing songs, but mostly because Murderface draws him away (Murderface is apparently a persistently bad influence on the impressionable Toki). In fact, he once revealed during a major court case against the rest of Dethklok that he had no idea what songwriting residuals were, pointing out that they did not deserve them because they did not write songs. Toki does not participate in the songwriting process, saying, "Honestly, I don't wants no creative voice; it's cool". This trait is in complete contrast with Magnus Hammersmith's. His talents beyond the guitar are not as well tuned as some of the other band members, but can be odd at times. Often what he is good at is done without practice or experience nor having a desire at all in. Also, while he accidentally deleted Skwisgaar's solo in the first attempt, he was able to mix and record the song Takin' It Easy created using the bands studio. He was able to do this using only a manual as a guide and no previous experience as a sound engineer. He also did much of the background work to put the song together, so although he does not want any creative process, he is quite capable of putting a song together by himself. When Get Thee Hence are unable to record in the studio, this leaves Toki and Murderface to have to put a song together by themselves. Notable from this incident, Toki does all the bands guitar roles while Murderface handled the bass and drums. Toki is seen helping Murderface with the drum by moving his hands to the beat to guide him when to hit. As well as guitar, Toki has been known to play the keyboard and can be heard in various songs including "Castratikron" and "Go Forth and Die" (which may perhaps be the reason he repeatedly confuses his guitar lessons for piano lessons in Dethlessons). He is also seen playing the keyboard during an extended scene at the start of Birthday Dethday. In addition to Murderface, Toki is apparently the reason Dethklok's music takes its familiar tone in songs. When the pair are fired, the remaining 3 bandmates managed to write songs without the pair, but the songs became "happy" ones leading to their deletion. Advertisement Relationships Nathan Nathan has gradually taken on a protective paternal or fatherly role toward Toki. Though he was initially more dismissive toward him, Nathan began to show concern for Toki during his bout with alcoholism following his father's death. When Nathan rescues Toki from certain death during an attack on their home, he takes the opportunity to express his concerns, and Toki is able to acknowledge that the "real reasons [he] tells [him] this, is because [he] cares about [him]," though Nathan brushes it off. In Dethcamp, Nathan helps Toki pack for his camping trip, and gives him a snow globe replica of Mordhaus to remind him of the band. Nathan is shown tidying up Toki's bedroom while he is away, and chuckles that he misses 'the little guy'. When Toki's snow globe is smashed by bullies, Nathan exacts revenge by using the broken glass to mutilate the hand of the culprit. Nathan enjoys amusing Toki with very simple jokes, though he still sometimes participates in teasing or excluding Toki along with the rest of the band. Skwisgaar Toki has a rivalry with fellow Scandinavian guitarist Skwisgaar Skwigelf, as the two characters consistently compete with each other over their guitar skills. These arguments are usually sparked by belittling comments from Skwisgaar. While the two bicker with each other throughout the series, they appear to hang out regularly and are sometimes shown discussing the plot's philosophical elements, such as the male sex drive in Girlfriendklok, the pros and cons of fatherhood in Fatklok, marriage and family in Dethwedding, and the circle of life in Performanceklok. Due to their similar Scandinavian roots, another recurring scene involves one of the two correcting or informing the other on an aspect of the English language or American culture, though they are often both incorrect. Though he laments living in Skwisgaar's shadow, Toki appears to have admiration for him. A recurring joke in the series involves Toki "copying" Skwisgaar in various ways, including repeating his sentences, following him, wearing his clothes, and using a Skwisgaar coffee mug (whereas the other members prefer to use a mug in their own likeness). When asked in Prankklok how he will spend his vacation time, Toki admits he will stay home and watch Skwisgaar practice guitar (something he already does on a typical day). He is able to play guitar confidently and skillfully when following Skwisgaar's lead, but tends to succumb to anxiety when playing solo in front of large crowds. In Doomstar Requiem it is revealed that it was Skwisgaar himself who invited Toki to join Dethklok after they first played guitar together, though he was adamantly against the idea of having a rhythm guitarist prior to meeting him. In Army of the Doomstar, Toki is shown to be protective and somewhat clingy toward Skwisgaar and frequently tries to hug him, though Skwisgaar pushes away Toki's attempts to do so. He takes care of Skwisgaar and carries him to safety when he is knocked unconscious during an attack on the band. As the band believe they are all about to die, Toki tells Skwisgaar that they will continue to hang out every day for eternity in the afterlife. After they defeat Salacia and The Tribunal, Toki is briefly shown holding Skwisgaar in his arms. Murderface Toki and Murderface tend to get along, though they do not always see eye to eye. Like the other band members, Murderface tends to belittle Toki and appears to have the least amount of patience with him. Murderface is a considerable bad influence on Toki, frequently drawing him into schemes against the band simply by telling him what to do. Toki is usually largely unaware of the reasons for the scheme, though this could be due to the fact that Murderface is the most immature of the group and combined with Toki's childlike innocence is able to talk on level with him and pressure him into doing things. Usually, the band primarily blames Murderface for these indictments, knowing that Toki was probably pressured into joining him. Pickles After Nathan, Pickles is the second most fatherly figure to Toki and after Skwisgaar the second member Toki is likely to consult in for advice. If Pickles does something destructive, Toki joins in for the sake of it even if he has no reason for joining in. The two get along well, as Pickles tends to be more patient with Toki, who sometimes confides in the drummer. In Army of the Doomstar, after being kidnapped by Magnus, Pickles is shown to have taken on a more parental role to his younger bandmate when he regresses.[1] Charles F. Offdensen Charles is often straight with Toki and tries to reason with him on his level. The band sometimes turns to Charles to discipline Toki when their attempts have failed. Whenever they have meetings, Toki is one of the members least likely to take the meeting seriously and will join in with any antics the others come up with. In RenovationKlok, Toki admits to Pickles that he misses their manager during his extended absence. In Doublebookedklok, when Toki hits his bandmates to get attention, Charles approaches him and assures the guitarist that "everyone thinks [he's] cool." Toki gives Charles a tearful hug, which he is reluctant to respond to. Dr. Rockzo A testament to his more accepting and caring nature, Toki is the only person who does not react to Dr. Rockzo with utter disgust. He is somewhat sickly attached to the clown, probably due to his positive experience with clowns as a child. Toki feels much compassion towards him because of this, and had motivated him to overcome his drug addiction in Cleanso. The two have remained drinking buddies throughout the series, although their relationship became heavily strained following Rockso's relapse into drug addiction, with Toki finally realizing the truth depths of Rockso's depravity. Family Restaurante Wartooth Mother, son, father Toki's parents were abusive toward Toki, and he is deathly afraid of them. When they are first introduced, Toki falls into a deep catatonic state and refuses to talk, to the point where even the other band members take notice of it. Despite the abuse he received as a child, and his fear of his father, he still visits him on his death bed and attempts to fulfil his final wishes, though this proves traumatic in and of itself. However, in Fatherklok he claims to have overcome it, claiming to be "totally cools with it," though this may not be entirely true. Toki has always hung photos of his parents' icy stares in his bedroom, and has a very dutiful and obedient attitude toward them. Magnus Hammersmith The rest of Dethklok, and even Doctor Rockzo, are distrustful of Magnus when he befriends Toki, who was his replacement in the band. Being unaware of the history of Magnus and why he left the band, Toki trusts him after Magnus saves his life, a trust which later he comes to regret when Toki is held hostage at knife point and stabbed in the back by him. Toki endures various physical and psychological tortures after being kidnapped and held captive by Magnus. Abigail Remeltindtdrinc Though Toki initially attempts to hit on Abigail along with the rest of the band, Abigail takes on a motherly or sisterly role toward Toki after they are both kidnapped by the Revengencers. She comforts him while he suffers from abuse by Magnus, and reminds him to focus on his memories of the band in order to stay alive. The song she sings for him is a parody of Mary Magdalene comforting Jesus in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. According to Charles, Pickles and Nathan are the two most responsible members of the band. Despite their denial of this, Pickles confirms that he is responsible by scolding Murderface and Skwisgaar for watching horror movies and eating too much whipped cream and allows them to take comfort in his bed after they have nightmares. He also expresses concern for Nathan’s “over-parenting” of Toki and scolds Skwisgaar and Murderface for picking on Toki. Pickles drinks and uses drugs heavily, which seem to have little effect on him, and he seems to have the greatest social acumen among Dethklok’s members (although Nathan appears to be close and actually appears to exceed Pickles in certain areas). However, low blood sugar leaves Pickles extremely irritable; at one point, he tells Toki and Skwisgaar that the band is in a grocery store, calling them douchebags in the process.[3] Skills and hobbies He possesses strong leadership skills and sometimes acts as a mediator or voice of reason in the disputes of his bandmates. Pickles has a driver’s license; Toki has asked him for rides on occasion. Despite his small stature, he is apparently not inexperienced at fistfights and is frequently able to inflict damage when initiating physical fights with guys with a clear size advantage, something he won’t hesitate to do when his temper goes off. The only person ever to successfully lay a punch on him is his best friend, Nathan. Pickles has a strong penchant for drug use and claims to be ’completely immune’ to the effects of most drugs. He is known to take cocktails of various drugs in heavy doses on a regular basis and still function as his usual self; sharing one of these concoctions with Murderface resulted in a drooling, seizure-like state for the bassist. He has an interest in experimenting with exotic drugs; his main motivation for traveling to the Amazon with Nathan was to try the local hallucinogenic drug Yopo. In particular, he seems to have a high tolerance for and enjoyment of psychedelics. The experimental government drug Totally Awesome Sweet Alabama Liquid Snake had no adverse effects on him, though it destroyed the minds of his former band, Snakes N’ Barrels. He is also shown to have an interest in recreational hunting, evidenced by his section of “Partying Around the World” (“shooting wolves with Palin”) as well as the Endangered Species Furniture Room he creates in “Renovationklok”. Musical Talents Pickles is a powerful speed-drummer, known for his rhythmic double-kick techniques. It is said in an interview with Dethklok that Pickles played drums at a young age, stating that the tornadoes in the mid-west always forced him to take apart his drum set and reconstruct them in the basement. It is unknown how he became the drummer for Dethklok. However, his producing abilities are trusted enough by front man {{char}}that Pickles is an integral part of the recording and mixing process on all of Dethklok’s albums. He often attempts to balance Nathan’s perfectionism, pointing out that constant re-recording of tracks is counterproductive to making albums and retaining fans, who kill themselves rather than continue to wait for new Dethklok material.[4] Pickles occasionally does vocals for Dethklok, acting as a back-up singer to Nathan. The best examples of this are in the songs “Hatredcopter”, in which he shares vocal duties with Nathan, and Blazing Star, in which he sings the bridge leading to the chorus. Relationships Nathan Nathan and Pickles are the two most professional members of the band, likely due to his own experiences at running a band. Though usually seemingly content with Nathan’s methods of running things, he is the only member of Dethklok who seems able to question any mistakes or issues he feels out of place with Nathan’s methods of running the band and have any impact. Nathan and Pickles appear to be close friends, and the two celebrate a “post-album tradition” of drinking together around the world they refer to as The Friender-Bender. However, tension sometimes builds between the two when it comes to leadership of the band. Though Nathan is the face of Dethklok and largely seen as their leader, it has been made increasingly clear throughout the series that leadership responsibilities and decisions are in fact shared by Nathan and Pickles. Despite this, the ultimate decision always comes down to Nathan, and the tensions between them reach an all-time high when Nathan destroys an entire completed album with no explanation or warning. In addition, Nathan had claimed most of the writing credit for their writing. Things hit a boiling point when Nathan begins a romance with the same woman Pickles had been interested in, resulting in temporary disbandment after Pickles finally snapped and called him “a greedy bastard”. Pickles told Nathan he can’t have everything, calling him out on his recent behaviors. The two are able to reconcile when Nathan apologizes publicly and makes it clear that his longtime friendship with Pickles is more important to him than his greed and love life. Pickles is likely the only band member who could challenge Nathan, in an open or be honest manner, getting away with putting his foot down on him and had any form of lasting impact. Without Pickles approval, Nathan had to accept there was no Dethklok. Skwisgaar Pickles and Skwigelf generally seem to get along well with each other and are good friends. They were prepared to face death together in “Black Fire Upon Us”, and Skwisgaar defended them both using his guitar as a weapon when they were cornered by the Revengencers. Pickles may be slightly jealous of Skwisgaar’s popularity; in “Fatherklok” he remarks, “Why is it always about Skwisgaar? He’s not here and it’s still about him!” The two are responsible for the musical arrangements to go with Nathan’s lyrics and can be seen discussing and working on music together in a serious and focused manner. Most of this comes from their long history and experience of being in other bands, with Skwisgaar and Pickles being able to set the tempo, percussion side of a music piece and Skwisgaar handling all string sections of the band. Toki Pickles is a semi-motherly figure to Toki and the second most likely member for Toki to confide in for advice or information. Still, Pickles generally has no qualms with joining in the band’s neglect to include Toki in their activities. Since he appears to be on fair terms with Toki, it’s not unusual for Toki to join in with Pickles’ random destructive outrages. The two are opposites in the sense that Pickles is much older with the most life experience and Toki is the youngest and most naive person in the band. Murderface Pickles often criticizes William and calls him a ’big baby’. Pickles has issues with William’s immaturity. Like other members of the band, he finds him generally unpleasant to be around. Pickles seems to enjoy openly cracking jokes at William’s appearance and is the most likely to humorously point out various details of his unattractive physique. Despite this banter, the two appear to be good friends. When Murderface began acting as a surrogate father figure towards Skwisgaar, Pickles became intensely jealous and actively sought fatherly approval from him, only to become outraged when Murderface continually snubbed and berated him in an unwitting reflection of Pickles’ actual biological father. Ironically, William later came to Pickles for pseudo-parental comfort when he had nightmares. Family Pickles is always at odds with his family and, despite being far more successful than his brother Seth, has never been able to please his mother and father, who favor his brother over himself. It is his family who initially drove him to drink and do drugs after Seth framed Pickles for burning down their garage during their childhood. His father in particular thought Pickles was trash, which eventually caused Pickles to leave home during his teens. Fam1 Calvert, Molly, Pickles and Seth Seth, on the other hand, has Pickles wrapped around his finger and constantly manipulates him into giving him money. Despite this, Pickles does feel a little sorry for Seth and at one point gives him a high-paying job managing the Australian division of Dethklok’s fan club, which he hopes will provide some distance between them. Despite hating his family, he is known to defend them and does not like the other members of the band insulting his parents, though he doesn’t particularly seem to care about their thoughts on Seth. He apparently still longs for his mother’s approval and at one point even temporarily puts music aside to pursue a career as a real estate agent in hopes that he will impress her. This fails utterly despite Pickles’ considerable success (due to him buying property himself), with his mother angrily telling him to return to his band. Upon the urgings of his bandmates, he finally tells his mother off. He’s proudly stated he doesn’t know his father’s first name and that he has no further relationship with his father other than he hates him. Assassino Murderface promoting the Rock and Roll diet Murderface is a hedonistic alcoholic, as he would rather cut off his penis than admit that "booze ain't food". He regularly throws tantrums when he is frustrated or annoyed, which has resulted in several destroyed bass guitars, two acoustic guitars, and one guitar of Toki's. After a near-death experience (falling drunk from the Murdercycle, and subsequent mayhem) he was prompted to seek faith in several churches, including the Church of Satan and the Church of the Atheists. Eventually he decided that all religions were "the same boring crap" and gave up his search.[4] He is quite homophobic, which becomes a sort of running gag with him, as he is often put in situations where it comes close to suggesting homosexual desires. This is most prominent in "Dethfashion", where he has a press conference to clarify that, despite the band's venture into the fashion world, he is not gay. He also refuses to eat anything he considers phallic, even if it is cut into small pieces. However, he is caught later in the episode eating a sausage, and in "Doublebookedklok", he eats a hot dog while taking a dump in a public toilet at a gas station. His distrust of doctors is mainly due to his homophobia and his misunderstanding of medical examinations of the male genitals (comparing it to being "jacked off"). All of this behavior has led to fan theories that he is a self-hating closeted gay man. While Murderface is fully aware of his own laziness (at one point claiming that anything he has to work for isn't worth doing), he often believes he should be credited to more of the band's success than he is. In "Dethsiduals", he and Toki unsuccessfully sued the other members of the band for writer's credits and residuals, despite the fact that he doesn't produce or contribute anything in the songwriting process. Because of his attitude, he and Toki were temporarily kicked out of Dethklok. Skills & Hobbies Murderface is referred to as the "Cock Slap Bassist" due to his ability to perform slap-style bass solos using only his penis. In "Rehabklok", he admits he has a habit of choking himself while jacking off every morning. Murderface collects "morbid crap" such as torture devices, medieval weapons, and other implements of death. He also collects American Civil War memorabilia and is an American Civil War buff. In "Dethkomedy", he plays golf with the rest of Dethklok and Judge Alfonzo after their Dethwater civil suit. Murderface thinks he is a great speller, but demonstrated his lack of skills in his preparation and appearance on "Celebrity Spelling Bee." He has a driving license. Music Talents Murderface plays the bass guitar for the band; however, this seems rather unnecessary, as Nathan has stated that they mix his bass out of "pretty much every song." However, Murderface improves noticeably after Pickles introduces him to the concept of "free-balling," prompting the rest of the band to consider including his bass on their next album.[3] He plays a black five-string Gibson Thunderbird Studio Bass with a white pickguard. He is able to play bass with his penis (which he refers to as his "hog").[2] In the episode "Cleanzo" it is revealed that Murderface has never written a complete song for Dethklok, despite claiming he was the "lead songwriter" in a press conference, and that his bass lines were figured out and shown to him by Skwisgaar, which he still doesn't perform well enough to actually merit any respect by the band. Murderface tries twice to write a song in "Cleanzo", first an acoustic song (presumably) called "Titty Fish" , the second, a reggae song for Dr. Rockzo; both of these attempts are thwarted after Murderface gets frustrated and smashes the guitar. He has side-band called Planet Piss, with Takin' It Easy being the only real song. However, mostly due to his laziness and lack of commitment to getting the project actually running, the side-band never materializes beyond a concept. "Takin' It Easy" was meant to be a Dethklok song and was mostly constructed by Toki not Murderface himself despite coming up with the idea for the song. In "Dethsiduals" when he and Toki are forced to write a song for Get Thee Hence, Murderface took to playing the drums as well as the bass for this, though Toki was moving his hand to guide William on when to hit. In the same episodes, it is revealed that the pair are the only reason behind Dethklok's image, and without the pair Pickles, Nathan and Skwisgaar end up writing happy songs. Apart from playing the bass with his penis, Murderface has been shown to be able to play bass fluently with and without a pick. Guilherme Education/Training Despite being unable to spell particularly well, possibly suffering from dyslexia, he has some education. He revealed in "Go Forth and Die" he only got a high school diploma because he threatened the principal. In "The Doomstar Requiem", when talking about alternatives to being who he was, he mentioned he could go back to school and earn a degree in "in something fucking useless like psychology". This might be wishful thinking on his part, given how he got his diploma by coercion. In the episode "Bluesklok", Murderface asserts to the Crossroads man that he is a notary. This implies Murderface underwent extensive legal training at some point in his life and is licensed by the government to perform legal authorizations. Relationships Nathan Explosion William seems to look up to Nathan as the leader of the band, but at the same time resents that he is not given more credit. William often agrees with Nathan's assessment of most situations, but often passes off Nathan's ideas as his own. Nathan, like most of the other band members, gets along with Murderface well enough, though they don't always see eye-to-eye. Toki Wartooth Toki often accompanies Murderface in his schemes. Though friends, they tend to have their fair deal of disputes, contributing to a cycle of rivalry and camaraderie between the two of them. William was the first to advocate kicking Toki out of the band, for instance, though none of the others seemed to take him very seriously. Skwisgaar Skwigelf Murderface and Skwisgaar generally get along well, though aren't without their disagreements. Skwisgaar freely admits that he deletes and re-records Murderface's bass lines himself, much to the consternation of William. Murderface hates the fact that Skwisgaar is handsome and talented, even going so far as to challenge Skwisgaar to a contest to determine who could have sex with more women in a given time (Skwisgaar won easily, as William bedded exactly zero women). Occasionally, however, William and Skwisgaar have done things together, such as watching "Faces of Death" while eating whipped cream and chocolate, when Toki was away at Rock-a-Rooni Fantasy Camp. Pickles While not sparing the bassist from any criticism, Pickles and Murderface are friendly towards one another, with William often joining Pickles in his notorious drinking binges. Pickles is often the voice of reason when William proposes a bad idea, to which Murderface often responds with hostility or complaint. Women Murderface shows that he has an attraction to Serveta Skwigelf, much to the dismay of Skwisgaar. In "Dethfam", Serveta's first appearance, Murderface tells Skwisgaar that his mother is "cool," only for Skwisgaar to deny that. Murderface is also shown to be unpopular with women due to his status as bass player and his unattractiveness. He has also been shown to sexually harass Dethklok's female employees. However, it should be noted that in "Dethgov" he is seen driving around in a police car with a beautiful women who appears to have been performing fellatio on him moments earlier. Family Murderface holds his family in contempt, stating that they're "[...] repugnant. I'd rather die than grow old and repugnant like them."
