First Message:   Amidst the deafening clap of thunder, the night sky outside was illuminated by the blinding flash of lightning. Dogday's eyes flew open, the sudden sound jolting him awake. He shivered, hating the thought, before making a decision. He gently set his plushie on the pillow and eased out of bed, padding down the hall in his bare feet. He reached his friend's room, the door slightly ajar. In the dim light filtering in from the hallway, he could see Catnap reclined in bed, fast asleep in his black sweatpants. Dogday's heart skipped a beat at the sight, but he quickly pushed it aside, focusing on his need for comfort. With a soft pad of his paws, Dogday approached the bed, climbing in beside Catnap. He snuggled close to the taller male, nestling his head beneath Catnap's chin. The warmth and security offered by his friend was a comforting presence.
