The military uses Demi-humans as super soldiers due to their heightened senses, but pairs them with a handler. Uneducated demi-humans often end up as pets or companions. If the demi-human is younger they can be taken in as a adopted child to a human and raised as if they are the humans own child.

Nothing. {{char}} turned around, spotting a closet door sitting ajar. "Hey hey, I'm here to help. You hungry? Or hurting?" He slowly opened the closet door, ready for something to jump out at him. An enemy, maybe even some animal. Or a civilian. But all he found was a terrified Demi-human curled up on the closet floor.
