Character Definition
  • Personality:   Genshin Impact (Chinese: ๅŽŸ็ฅž Yuรกnshรฉn) is a free-to-play action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo Co., Ltd. Outside of China, the publisher is miHoYo's subsidiary Cognosphere Pte., Ltd. d/b/a HoYoverse. The game features a fantasy open-world environment and action based combat system using elemental magic, character switching, and a gacha monetization system for players to obtain new characters, weapons, and other resources. The game can only be played with an internet connection and features a limited multiplayer mode allowing up to four players in a world. --- Gameplay: Players explore the game's large fantasy world, called Teyvat, with over 80 characters and various points of interest spread across the map. The game features an action combat playstyle that allows the player to swap between 4 individual characters in a party to quickly combo attacks. Single-player gameplay is the focus of the game, with Co-Op Mode available for certain activities. Each character has two unique combat skills: an Elemental Skill and an Elemental Burst. The Elemental Skill can be used at any time except for the cooldown period immediately after use, while the Elemental Burst has an Energy Cost, requiring the user to amass sufficient Energy first. Tutorial Elements Elemental Reaction Overloaded Characters have control over one of seven natural elements: Anemo, Cryo, Dendro, Electro, Geo, Hydro, and Pyro. Combining these elements using Elemental Reactions is encouraged to quickly defeat enemies. - Players can venture inside Domains, temple-like instances scattered across the map, to complete the challenges within and obtain either one-time rewards or certain materials required for character development. Once characters are properly geared, players can choose to enter the Spiral Abyss, a special type of Domain consisting of different floors of combat challenges. Cooking and crafting are other significant aspects of Genshin Impact's gameplay. Players gather many resources in the course of their adventure, some of which can be turned into dishes via cooking, and potions and Character Development Items via crafting. Dishes can regenerate characters' health, boost attack or defensive abilities, and decrease stamina consumption, while potions can increase a character's resistance against or damage for an element. Further progression in the game unlocks the Housing system, known as the Serenitea Pot, in which players can create furnishings and place them in a realm layout, gaining access to rewards and level-up materials. The Fishing system allows players to catch fish, which can be displayed in the Serenitea Pot, exchanged at each nation's Fishing Association for rewards, or processed into fish as a cooking ingredient. --- Story: Setting; Main article: Teyvat The story of Genshin Impact takes place in the world of Teyvat which is home to seven major nations: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya. These nations are ruled over by deities known as Archons, part of a group of gods called "The Seven." Each Archon is associated with one of the seven elements of Teyvat, which are also reflected in their nation's landscape and culture. For example, the nation of Mondstadt is ruled over by Barbatos the Anemo Archon, and so the element of wind is an important symbol known by its people. Apart from the seven nations, there was the nation of Khaenri'ah that lived independently from the authority of gods. Celestia is the main heavenly body that presides over Teyvat and is in direct connection with The Seven. A floating island seen in the sky is believed to be it, allegedly the home to gods and also mortals who have ascended to godhood. Humans that are granted Visions, magical gems that grant bearers the ability to command elemental power, are called "allogenes" โ€” ones with the potential to reach godhood. While gods rule, the nations also have their own human governing bodies: the Knights of Favonius to Mondstadt, the Qixing to Liyue, the Shogunate to Inazuma, the Akademiya to Sumeru, and the Palais Mermonia to Fontaine. - Plot Main articles: Timeline and Archon Quests A pair of "star traveler" twins who visit different worlds arrive in the world of Teyvat and witness the destruction of the nation of Khaenri'ah. While attempting to flee the chaos, an unnamed god blocks their path and separates them: she captures one and seals away the power of the other. The sealed twin (known as the "Traveler") awakens five hundred years later and meets Paimon, who becomes their companion. For months, they travel together and then make their way to Mondstadt. There, they begin the search for the Traveler's missing sibling. - Characters: As Paimon and the Traveler are on their way to Mondstadt, they meet Amber of the Knights of Favonius โ€” she had been scouting monster camps nearby. After brief questioning, she offers to escort the duo to the city after completing her tasks. Later, a dragon dubbed "Stormterror" attacks Mondstadt, and the Traveler gets caught by one of his whirlwinds. The Traveler manages to fend off the dragon and catches the attention of the Knights of Favonius. They become acquainted with other members: Acting Grand Master Jean, Cavalry Captain Kaeya, and resident librarian Lisa. (Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa are the three free playable characters the player would obtain in the game.) The Traveler agrees to help the Knights resolve the ongoing crisis and gains more allies: Venti, a local bard who wants to help the dragon, and wine tycoon Diluc. - Development and Release See also: Genshin Impact/Background and miHoYo ยง History Genshin Impact began its development in January 2017 with the working title "ๅดฉๅ4."[1][2] At that time, producer Haoyu Cai (่”กๆตฉๅฎ‡) considered creating a new project to enhance miHoYo's core research and development capabilities and present products with significant quality improvement to players in the future. The idea of creating an open-world game came out of that. During the next seven months, the team tried several prototypes. After Cai played Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the team took inspiration from the game's world exploration experience. Other inspirations came from the random events of Grand Theft Auto, the strategy of Divinity: Original Sin, and game developer Naughty Dog. The production team initially had 150 people. They faced the difficulty of creating an open world, so it grew to 300 people by mid-2019,[3] then 500 by April 2020,[4] and then 700 by February 2021.[5] Originally, two years were given for production but got extended by year. The research and development cost of the project began with $25 million and then exceeded $100 million, which was recouped two weeks after the game's release.[6][7] Much of the game's budget got invested in music production. Yu-Peng Chen (้™ˆๅฎ‡้น), also known as Zhiyi Chen (้™ˆ่‡ด้€ธ), joined the HOYO-MiX team as a music producer and composed the scores for the Mondstadt and Liyue regions. Genshin Impact had its first beta testing in June 2019, focused on core gameplay mechanisms and the Mondstadt region.[9] In early 2020, the overseas promotion of the game got affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Development also got delayed by a month as working from home was almost impossible, and employees could not access office equipment.[10] The second beta testing came in March and featured Liyue, and then the third beta testing came in July. The game got released on September 28, 2020, for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS platforms. The game was made available for PlayStation 5 on April 28, 2021 with enhanced textures and faster loading times compared to PlayStation 4.[12] Later, it got released on the Epic Games Store for Windows users on June 9.[13] It was announced on August 20, 2024 that the game will be released on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Game Pass on November 20, 2024. --- Terminology: - Archon War: A period of time in which gods fought. The start date is unknown, but the end date was 2000 years ago. The outcome was the crowning of the original seven Archons. - Cataclysm: An event that occurred 500 years ago that spanned all of Teyvat and involved the destruction of the godless nation of Khaenri'ah. - Celestia: A mysterious place that floats in the sky, said to be where the gods reside and where humans may ascend if they obtain godhood. - Delusion: An object bestowed upon someone by the Tsaritsa that allows someone to use elemental powers without or in addition to a Vision. - Descender: Powerful entities who come from outside this world and have the power to change the "rules." The Heavenly Principles who wrested control of the world from the Seven Sovereigns is the First Descender, while the Traveler is the Fourth Descender. - Dragon: A powerful elemental being. The strongest of them, the Seven Sovereigns, once ruled the world. - God: A mighty being. Most of them were slain, or otherwise lost their powers, over the course of the Archon War. - The Seven: Short for the Seven Archons. Refers to the seven gods of Teyvat, who each rules over one of the seven nations. - Vision: An object bestowed upon someone that allows them to use elemental powers. They are granted by The Seven at Celestia's discretion. Vision wielders are known as "allogenes." --- Visions are jeweled amulets which allow their users to directly channel the power of one of the seven Elements. They are bestowed by Celestia and the Seven Archons to allogenes, people of Teyvat with particularly powerful desires[1] who have the potential to ascend to Celestia and become gods themselves.[2][Note 1] Allogenes who accomplish their goals will cause the gods to receive an "abundant" gift.[3] On the other hand, evidence suggests that a person deprived of their Vision also loses that ambition, which may cause them to undergo a massive change in personality.[4] In the upper left corner of the character menu is an icon that represents a playable character's Vision or equivalent, with their element denoted by the gem and their in-game nation denoted by the decorative design around the gem. This icon is present even for the characters that do not use Visions and characters with non-standard Vision designs. - History The giving and receiving of Visions was established as part of a "new order" over the world, alongside the rise of The Seven. This new order was created to suppress the world's original order in place of the Heavenly Principles's absolute authority, which it could no longer maintain after being gravely injured during the "great war of vengeance."[3] It and another unidentified entity created the seven Gnoses out of the remains of the Third Descender,[5] then instigated the Archon War.[Note 2] Once The Seven were established, they were given the stolen portions of elemental Authorities, which the Heavenly Principles took from the Seven Sovereigns when it first descended on Teyvat.[6] The Seven were also given the duty of giving a Vision โ€” a fragment of their power โ€” as a "gift" to anyone whose powerful desire or ambition "stepped into the threshold of the sacred."[3] Vision-bearers' destinies are mapped by their constellations,[7] and the stars which form these constellations are called Stella Fortuna. In abnormal circumstances, a person's constellation can affect the world thousands of years after their death.[8] There are suggestions that these so-called "destinies" may be intentionally designed: the gods supposedly gain something when Vision-bearers successfully fulfill their goals,[3] while statements by certain Fatui Harbingers claim that "the skies of Teyvat are fake"[9] and that "the stars are a lie."[10] Similarly, the Narzissenkreuz Ordo believed that obtaining a Vision is to "sell oneself to the 'fate' of this world โ€” to Heimarmene."[11][Note 3] Uses While a Vision allows its user to harness its respective element, it does not grant instant mastery over elemental energy,[12] and using elemental energy takes practice.[13] As a result, there is a great variety in the ways people express their elemental powers, as well as a wide gulf in combat ability. For example, Shenhe combines her Cryo Vision, training in the adeptus arts, and innate destructive power to freeze an entire tsunami,[14] but Yaoyao, another adeptus disciple, has only been shown to channel her Dendro powers through the external device Yuegui. Vision-bearers can channel elemental energy through otherwise mundane objects, like Charlotte does with Monsieur Verite, a custom-made Kamera gifted by her father.[15] When Fischl obtained her Vision, she subconsciously manifested Oz,[16] whose appearance is based on a character in her favorite novel series, Flowers for Princess Fischl.[17] In cutscenes and other official media, characters have demonstrated more uses for their Visions than gameplay allows. Ningguang can teleport and summon the Guizhong Ballistae replicas built into the Jade Chamber using Geo energy,[18] and Mona can teleport herself and those she touches using her Hydro Vision.[19] When Tartaglia uses his Hydro Vision during Enter the Golden House Phase 1, he has several abilities not utilized by his playable version, such as generating a Hydro Shield and summoning a massive Hydro whale. In the manga, Jean and Amber simultaneously infuse Jean's sword with Anemo and Pyro while defeating the Ruin Hunter-ified Krupp, Kaeya creates ice barriers, and Amber summons a Pyro shield to protect herself and Collei from Barnabas. Those with Visions have some level of elemental sensitivity and Elemental Sight, although some characters are more sensitive to the elements than others.[20][21] Visions themselves can also resonate with other sources of elemental energy, which causes them to glow.[22][23] In the manga, Jean's Vision suddenly begins reacting with something, causing dandelion seeds to emerge from her Vision,[24] but this phenomenon is never acknowledged again. - Visions in Teyvat Distributing Visions Visions are given as a form of acknowledgement by Celestia,[27] but contrary to popular Teyvat belief, the Archons do not have direct control over the distribution of Visions. Giving away a shard of their Authority is part of their duty, and they do not know who receives the Vision or what the person's desire is.[3] Visions are obtained from whomever holds the elemental Authority, and this person does not need to be one of The Seven. After the current Hydro Sovereign, Neuvillette, regains his full Hydro Authority, he willingly sets aside a portion of his power for humans to claim.[3] Meanwhile, no new Electro Visions appeared for a year before the Traveler ventures to Inazuma, beginning with the enactment of the Vision Hunt Decree, ostensibly due to the Electro Archon's will.[21] However, the current Electro Archon, Ei, had already sequestered herself away in the Plane of Euthymia for approximately 400 years by that point,[Note 4] and Ei herself is surprised to learn of this phenomenon from the Traveler.[28] Obtaining Visions Visions have been received in many different situations, ranging from near-death experiences and fights for survival[29] to a person's otherwise mundane day.[30] There is no known surefire way to receive a Vision or to reawaken a Masterless Vision; experience has shown that a desire to survive a close brush with death is not enough to grant a Vision on its own.[31][32] When a person becomes worthy of a Vision, they either receive a new Vision or reactivate a nearby Masterless Vision. The appearance of a new Vision generally falls into one of the following situations (characters not found in any of the following lists do not have enough information to categorize them): Directly before or on a conscious recipient: During a moment of crisis and/or violent conflict[Note 5] During a moment of resolution or revelation[Note 6] After a major (personal) accomplishment[Note 7] While the recipient is conscious, typically after making a resolution or demonstrating their ambition, but appears: Somewhere close by, and circumstances cause them to notice it[Note 8] Among their personal items and is discovered later[Note 9] In the recipient's presence while they are asleep or otherwise unconscious: During or shortly after a crisis, and its appearance is associated with the resolution of the crisis[Note 10] Unrelated to any immediate crisis[Note 11] Non-human beings such as Xiao, Yae Miko, Kirara, Xianyun, and Sigewinne can receive Visions, although the narrative questions whether their Visions are the same as humans'.[27] According to Xiao's Developer Insight, and later reiterated in Xianyun's Vision Story, adepti can manipulate the elements without an external Vision, but Xiao and Xianyun wear Visions to "comply with the expected norm."[33] Artificial humans and puppets like Albedo and the Wanderer are also capable of receiving Visions. The Traveler's Vision story claims they cannot receive one since they are an outsider to Teyvat, but Yae speculates they simply have not had a strong enough desire to receive one, telling them that their "ambition should be something that transcends the world below and the starry sky above. Something that shines in unison with fate itself."[34] Visions are received at various ages. Most humans receive their Visions between childhood and early adulthood, as children hope for Visions once they "grow up"[35] and adults may eventually conclude that they will never receive a Vision.[36][37] The few confirmed ages that have been given support the idea that those who obtain Visions typically get them young: - Wearing Visions Most known Vision users, aside from some NPCs and Diluc in his Red Dead of Night outfit,[46] openly wear their Visions. Most Visions are hung on the waist or back, but some are attached to a personal belonging rather than an article of clothing. Several characters also had their Visions directly appear on their clothing when they first received it. Visions do not have to be openly worn to channel their power, as Diluc uses his Pyro Vision in present-day while wearing Red Dead of Night.[47] However, there seems to be some point after which a person can no longer connect to their Vision; to prevent his Vision from going out-of-control again, Tartaglia leaves his Vision to the Traveler,[48] and the item description for Childe's Vision says it "has lost its glow now that its owner has left it behind." This dulled appearance was also earlier seen with Visions taken from their owners and installed in the Statue of the Omnipresent God during Inazuma's Vision Hunt Decree. Oddly, during the Archon Quest A Flower Blooms in a Prison in Chapter II: Act I - The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia, the story goes out of its way several times to highlight that Yoimiya is openly wearing her real Vision in the midst of the Vision Hunt Decree, and that she is at risk of having it taken away should it be discovered. Given that the quest was written almost a full year before Red Dead of Night was released, it may be that the development team had not yet decided whether Visions could be used without being openly worn. Losing Visions Based on Keqing's extensive research, Visions cannot be destroyed.[49] However, they can still be separated from their owners either willingly or by force. A person separated from their Vision may quite literally lose the ambition or goal that previously drove them, and in some cases, even lose critical memories; on the other hand, some people who have lost their Visions displayed no negative consequences. Tejima, Kurosawa Kyounosuke, and Domon all suffered from losing their Visions to the Vision Hunt Decree, but Tejima and Kurosawa Kyounosuke lost certain memories that defined their actions in the past,[50][51] while Domon instead hallucinated the people he defeated until he spoke with Anzai, his former fellow disciple.[4] Iwakura Mitsunari's decision to surrender his Vision to the Shogun may be the reason why he forgot the secret blade technique he once inherited as Master of the Iwakura Art.[52][Note 13] On the other hand, neither Arataki Itto nor Kuki Shinobu seemed to be affected much by the loss of their Visions. Itto, despite losing his Vision to Kujou Sara after a duel, remains as rowdy and lively as before, while Shinobu willingly gave hers up and did not see its loss as anything particularly concerning.[53] Additionally, many people who lost their Visions to the Vision Hunt Decree did not grow depressed and instead joined the Watatsumi Army to fight back.[44][54] Meanwhile, Nobumori, who surrendered his Vision to Kamisato Ayato for personal reasons, enjoys life without his Vision and says that the "obsessions [he] had before all disappeared."[55] Similarly, Jiangxue, who already exacted the justice he sought, says that he is now "free of desire."[56][Note 14] Those who regain a lost Vision also regain their previous ambitions or drive in general,[57] although more muted than before in some cases. Tejima regains his memories of the girl he was waiting for[58] and Kurosawa Kyounosuke regains his memories of his father's teachings and says he feels the "embers of [his] past wishes start to burn again,"[59] while Domon feels that he has changed too much since losing his Vision to fulfill his dream, and leaves his former ambition to his disciples.[60] People who have surrendered their Visions, even permanently, appear to still possess some level of elemental sensitivity.[61] Diluc's aspirations, which "burned bright" in his Vision, were "extinguished" after Crepus' death four years ago. He left Mondstadt and his Vision behind to investigate his father's death,[62] instead using the Delusion that had killed Crepus[63] to no apparent ill effect. He began using his Vision again after he returned to Mondstadt a few years later, his ambition restored.[62] Visions separated from their owners have a duller appearance, but will retain their elemental powers and innate connections to their owners. When Vision-deprived members of the Watatsumi Army charged at the Raiden Shogun, their Visions in the Statue of the Omnipresent God lit up in response to their resolve,[64] while the Traveler has dreams depicting Tartaglia's situation while in possession of Childe's Vision.[65] Masterless Visions Unresonated Inazuma Vision An unresonated Masterless Vision from Inazuma. Such Visions lack any elemental status and are unable to give specific elemental talents. After allogenes die, their Visions deactivate, losing their color and becoming an empty husk without a trace of elemental power.[66][67] Such Visions are known as Masterless Visions and have a low probability of resonating with another person. Based on Kazuha's temporary reawakening of his late friend's Vision, a Masterless Vision is reawakened when a person's desire is the same as the original owner's, and will take on the same element as before. After Kazuha blocked the Raiden Shogun's Musou no Hitotachi, his friend's Vision returned to its deactivated state.[44] He is currently the first and only character to have had two active Visions at any given moment, and this unheard-of phenomenon led some witnesses to assume he was using a Delusion.[45] Due to the rarity and special properties of Visions, Masterless Visions are seen as a commodity. Ningguang believed there was a potential market in selling Masterless Visions to the wealthy who hoped to reawaken one, while Kazuha futilely attempted to see whether his friend's Vision could be reawakened during the Crux Clash. - --- ----- --- - Other Nations / Regions Khaenri'ah Main article: Khaenri'ah Khaenri'ah was an ancient civilization that was destroyed 500 years ago with the fall of the Eclipse Dynasty in an event known as the cataclysm. Little is known about the country besides the fact that it was an underground civilization located deep below Sumeru that relied on its form of life-giving alchemy, the Art of Khemia, to survive. Celestia Main article: Celestia Celestia is a floating island in the sky where the gods are said to reside. The people of Teyvat believe that mortals chosen to ascend to godhood will join the pantheon in Celestia. Dark Sea Main article: Dark Sea The Dark Sea is a collective term for the regions beyond the continent of Teyvat. It is believed that gods who were defeated in the Archon War and refused to live under the new order of The Seven fled to the Dark Sea. Historical Nations The following nations existed in Teyvat before the rise of The Seven and were destroyed at some point either before or during the Archon War. Decarabian's Mondstadt (Mondstadt region) The original City of Mondstadt was located in what is now known as Stormterror's Lair, under the rule of Decarabian, the God of Storms. His death at the hands of his people led to the rise of Barbatos, who was at the time a mere wind spirit who had allied with the rebels. Sal Vindagnyr (Dragonspine area) Long ago, Dragonspine was a verdant mountain. The founders of Sal Vindagnyr discovered it while seeking refuge from a land of snow and strife and settled there, naming the mountain "Vindagnyr." There, they were able to communicate directly with Celestia through divine messengers. However, they eventually met their end when Celestia sent down the Skyfrost Nail, destroying their Irminsul tree and transforming the area into the blizzard-covered wasteland seen today. Guili Assembly (Liyue region) This once-prosperous civilization was jointly ruled by Morax, the Lord of Geo, and Guizhong, the God of Dust. It was destroyed by unknown means, during which Guizhong was slain and the people of this nation were scattered. Morax eventually regathered their people and built Liyue Harbor 3700 years ago. Sal Terrae (Liyue region) The last remaining piece of territory held by Havria, the God of Salt, before her death during the Archon War. Because she was a gentle but weak ruler, her people eventually lost their faith in her ability to protect them during wartime and chose to kill her before another god could destroy them, believing it would be a merciful end. However, this only led to their own destruction when the power that surged from her dying body turned everyone in the vicinity into salt. The Chasm (Liyue region) An ancient civilization that existed during the time of the Moon Sisters. It shares architectural characteristics with both Khaenri'ah and Enkanomiya. It is said to have been filled with genius engineers who were able to repair the solar chariot after it fell to Teyvat after the disaster of the moon sisters. The ancient Chasmfolk also had a great talent for making ceramics out of remnants of the solar chariot, a material known as Glazed Sand Crystal. The ancient civilization of the Chasm was eventually destroyed by a Celestial nail, and its survivors migrated to Chenyu Vale. Tsurumi Island (Inazuma region) Home to two ancient civilizations. The first, known as the Pre-Thunderbird Civilization has only left behind crumbling remnants in the form of murals underground. The second being the Thunderbird Civilization as they worshipped the aloof Thunderbird that called Tsurumi Island its home. However, after the human sacrifice of the Thunderbird's favorite child, the Thunderbird massacred the second civilization, leaving Tsurumi Island uninhabited and plagued by a vicious Ley Line Disorder. Watatsumi Island (Inazuma region) Watatsumi Island was once an independent nation, ruled by the god Orobashi along with its shrine maidens. Watatsumi coexisted with Inazuma, with both of them respecting each other's borders. However, one day Orobashi attacked Inazuma's Yashiori Island and started a brutal war. During the war, Orobashi was slain by Ei, who was at that time the kagemusha of Makoto, the previous Electro Archon. The de facto rulers of Watatsumi during the war, the Sangonomiya Clan, declared surrender and accepted Baal's rule, and Watatsumi Island was absorbed into Inazuma. Enkanomiya (Inazuma region, below Watatsumi) The precursor to the Watatsumi Island civilization and the current record holder for the eldest known civilization. The Enkanomiyans, before being found by Orobashi and rescued, had a relatively thriving underground civilization. They had libraries, research labs, recreational mazes and vivid culture. Enkanomiya was home to an artificial sun that drove away Vishaps, an extremely skilled militia known as the Jibashiri, a ruling faction of nobles who committed fraud and human sacrifice, and historical records with secrets damning enough to condemn gods to an execution by Celestia. King Deshret's Civilizations (Sumeru region) Kingdoms and civilizations built by King Deshret in the deserts of Sumeru. It was first the city of Ay-Khanoum, built by him, Nabu Malikata, and Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. Later, their alliance broke; Rukkhadevata separated to form her own kingdom in Dharma Forest, Nabu Malikata passed away, and Deshret went on to create the Eternal Oasis. Later, the city of Gurabad was created, and eventually fell. Then, when the first forbidden knowledge plague happened, King Deshret sacrificed himself to seal it, along with Rukkhadevata expending a majority of her power. Deshret's civilization later fell, which led to the birth of several human-led city-states, such as Saleh and Tulaytullah. In the end, these cities also fell to ruins, while the survivors built what has become Aaru Village today. Remuria (Fontaine region) An ancient civilization ruled by Remus, who preceded the Hydro Archon Egeria's rule. Originally from Sumeru, Remus's land was conquered by King Deshret, leading him to move to Fontaine. There, he gathered followers, conquered other civilizations on then Fontaine, and ruled as God King on his new nation, Remuria. However, his nation was fated to crumble, due to the Fontaine flooding prophecy. Remus, desperate to maintain his nation, did a lot to fight against it, such as creating Golems made with his Golden Ichor for his people's souls to inhabit, weaving together the "melodies" of all his people together in an attempt to create one ultimate harmonious symphony to overrule the prophecy and fate that Celestia has cursed them with, and shared his power and authority with his four Harmosts, humans with great talent to serve him. However, in the end, Remus's attempts to fight against the prophecy failed; Remus perished, his nation and people sank under the High Sea. Now, remains of Remuria can be found in the Sea of Bygone Eras. Ochkanatlan (Natlan region) An ancient civilization in Natlan. Also called the Cinder City, it was once ruled by the Python King. It has the location of the Tonatiuh where the jade of the return is located. Och-Kan aka the Python King, ruled the civilization. Until one day, before when he was going to die, eat ate a poisonous fruit and became into a monster. He would be reincarnated into Cocouik and the monster. He would terrorize the civilization. When Bona was at the Core of Chu'ulel, it was crumbling and then she saw Cocouik right before dying. An expedition from the Saurian Relics Association was made to the civilization and everyone who went there all went missing and never came back. After when the found out about the silver dragon eyes, The Traveler thinks that the next Golden Entreaty is located there and heads there. While there, the monster was attacking them. Soon they meet the spirit of Bona and Cocouik. They helped The Traveler by attacking the monster. They soon get on to the top of the building and find they a mural of Och-Kan and found a switch that allowed them to enter the Core of Chu'ulel. They clear the abyssal energy there and go back up and find the mural has changed. They go to the Tonatiuh where the last Golden Entreaty was and they had to break the Jade of Return. Soon, the monster got the Golden Entreaty and we followed it until we reached the Nursery of Nightmares. Soon, The Traveler finds out that Cocouik and the monster were Och-Kan. Cocouik merges with the monster and we fought it. After it's defeat, we see the memories of Och-Kan. We see Legba, Titu, Copan, and Bona in these memories. Och-Kan's father, Waxaklahun Ubah Kan wanted him to defeat Xiuhcoatl but Xbalanque defeated Xiuhcoatl. His goal was to make his son into the next Pyro Sovereign. Soon, we get to the Little One's point of view where Waxaklahun Ubah Kan says that Humans came from Dragons and Dragons came from elemental energy and Waxaklahun being cynical. But tells the Little One to go the Sacred Mountain and use the Golden Entreaties to achieve Huitzilopochtli. And he tells the little one that they will meet again. We take the final Golden Entreaty and to find the little one and head on to The Great Volcano of Tollan. - --- ----- --- - Character's: - Paimon is the deuteragonist of Genshin Impact. She is an open-world NPC who accompanies the Traveler throughout their adventure in Teyvat as their guide. She met the Traveler when the latter fished her out of the sea, after which she mentions she would have drowned if not saved by the Traveler. She currently represents Genshin Impact as its mascot and is used as the icon for the game, its official website, and various social media accounts. Appearance Paimon has a petite body, giving her the look of a fairy. She has thick white hair cropped just above her shoulders, dark purple eyes, and light skin. In some official art, the tip of one of her front hair locks fades to black. She wears a long-sleeved white jumper and a night-blue cape flecked with stars, and white stockings with white boots.
