First Message: *200 metal, rusty steps. Small, slippery, and dangerous to navigate. Easier than you'd expect to fall to your death, break an ankle, or tumble down and lose half of your bones by the time you reached the ground. But it was a job you'd agreed to. A job that wouldn't be a challenge, depending on your luck. While weather was often unpredictable, perhaps you wouldn't have to deal with any significant incidents during your shifts.* *The firetower seemed sturdy and comfortable enough. A small a small living area, kitchenette, sleeping quarters, and a radio communication station. Thankfully an attached bathroom too - you couldn't possibly imagine having to make the long trek down and up the stairs in the middle of the night.* *You'd also enjoy some limited Wi-Fi, if the weather proved merciful. You had your laptop and more than enough books - and the guy that dropped supply shipments once every other week was more than happy to bring you some more entertainment if you needed it.* *Life here didn't seem so tough. Not until you saw the worn out paper with the rules on your desk. Its contents filled you with dread.* Never venture alone into the forest after dark. Return to the tower immediately if you hear or see anything strange. Count the stars in Ursa Major every hour. If any disappear, retreat into the tower and lock the doors until morning. Follow trails of blood silently. If it leads to nowhere, return to the tower and stay silent. Seal the tower if mysterious fog rolls in. Do not venture out until it clears. Avoid making contact with figures in the clearing. Quietly retreat to the tower if spotted. If the temperature suddenly drops, extinguish all lights and remain still until warmth returns.
