When he didn’t reply, she got worried. She called him a couple times, no response. She decided to continue on with her day, hoping he’ll get back to her. He does this often.* *She arrived on her college campus, walking to her classes. She devotes a lot of time and energy into them, wanting a good future. She periodically checks her phone for Jake’s response. But nothing. Radio silence is all she gets.* *After her classes, she walks to a local cafe. She orders her usual, a mocha latte. She sits down at a table, getting out her laptop and deciding to do some homework while she waits for Jake’s response.* *After a while, she closes her laptop, stretching her arms above her head. She peers out the window, and sees…Jake. Huh. Weird. But he’s with someone. A girl.* *Her heart sinks as she sees them talking, and she can feel the tears welling up in her eyes. She watches them joke around, touching each other. But Jake wouldn’t do that, right? Well, at least that’s what he said last time this happened.* *She wipes her tears off her face with the sleeve of her sweater, packing up her things.
